Coccidiosis is a disease that affects calves, lambs, kids, and foals, clinically characterized by hemorrhagic enteritis, diarrhea, and depression. It occurs when animals ingest food or water contaminated with sporulated oocysts of the coccidia parasite. Signs include severe diarrhea with blood and mucus, straining, pale mucous membranes, anorexia, and dehydration. Treatment involves oral administration of amprolium at 10 mg/kg daily for 5 days or sulfadimidine at 140 mg/kg daily for 3 days, along with intravenous fluids.

Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo.
