Jenny Zeng, the Chinese teacher, held a curriculum night meeting for parents of students in her Mandarin as a Second Language (MSL) class. She outlined what students would learn over the year through inquiry-based units and assessments. Homework would average 15 minutes per day and include online resources. Parents were encouraged to support learning through checking the teacher's blog, reading with their child, and exposing them to Chinese language and culture outside of class.
