With a new paper by the Center for American Progress as the guide, the slides evaluate how climate change created economic, demographic and political conditions that hastened the popular uprisings in the Arab world in 2010-2013. The Arab Spring was like a spark on very dry wood, and this presentation hopes to show just how dry it was due to climate change.

Agriculture, which is the mainstay of the economies of many developing countries, is highly depends on climatic conditions. This paper aimed at reviewing the climate change and its impacts on agricultural production with the specific objectives of reviewing the farmer’s adaptation strategies and barriers to the climate change and the impacts of climate change on agricultural production and food security in sub Saharan Africa countries. Empirical evidence shows that most of the smallholder famers in Sub-Saharan Africa have experienced the adaptation strategy of switching from planting high water-requirement to low water-requirement crops, planting diversified crops, changed planting dates to correspond to the change in the precipitation pattern and mixed cropping. The farmers’ ability to adapt to climate change has faced by access to information, extension services and access to credit. The effect of long-term mean climate change has significance impacts on global food production and affects all dimensions of food security in several ways ranging from direct effects on crop production to changes in markets, food prices and supply chain infrastructure which may require ongoing adaptation. Finally, effective institutions on climate change at the global level help to facilitate the policy implementations and to combat the impact of climate change.

The 2015 edition of the Global Risks report completes a decade of highlighting the most significant long-term risks worldwide, drawing on the perspectives of experts and global decision-makers. Introduction
There are different virus’ that affect people across the world. It can be noted that the increased development of cities has led to the potential risks as well as challenges based on emerging infectious diseases. They have associated many risk factors with the spread of diseases in the US cities. These factors are housing conditions, people’s movement, etc. that has led to a change or proliferation of insect vectors. Other factors that have led to the spread or outbreak of viruses are poor sanitation and insufficient water supply. This has contributed to the comfortable breeding ground for insects, which carry pathogens and another transmitted infection. This paper presents information about a virus outbreak in US cities and prevalence rates based on age.
Virus Infections
Cities are considered as the perfect hotbed and breeding ground for viruses and the spread of disease as more people move to crowded areas. As the world becomes more urbanized, the more cities will grow or develop; these cities might be kept clean or well maintained. Even though big cities have all the required health care facilities such as a sanitation department, but the moment the population increases the city always outgrows these service. According to the study conducted by Adda, (2016), there is an increased number of people traveling in the US, and this might be the reason for the virus outbreak. The individual cities in the United States have shown different transmission patterns, which are different due to climate variation etc.

The Figure above presents virus spread according to the age. The findings show that people aged less than years are highly affected by the virus as compared to any other age group. This age group has reported a high number of cases in most cities in the US. The ages least affected are between 19 and 30; this group has a lower number of cases in all cities as compared to any other group. People aged 18 years and less has a high prevalence rate of 0.43 while those aged between 19 and 30 had a prevalence rate of 0.154. The findings imply that younger people are highly affected by virus across all cities in the US.

Humans have a unique ability to manipulate their environment to increase its carrying capacity through activities like cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, and intensive farming. This has allowed population distribution to be increasingly affected by human factors rather than solely physical geography. As a result, the document tasks students with working in pairs to create a map predicting shifts in global population distribution between 2008 and 2050 that will be influenced more by predicted trends in human settlement patterns than environmental constraints alone.
Global Risks 2015 Report by World Economic Forum
The 2015 edition of the Global Risks report completes a decade of highlighting the most significant long-term risks worldwide, drawing on the perspectives of experts and global decision-makers. Over that time, analysis has moved from risk identification to thinking through risk interconnections and the potentially cascading effects that result. Taking this effort one step further, this year’s report underscores potential causes as well as solutions to global risks. Not only do we set out a view on 28 global risks in the report’s traditional categories (economic, environmental, societal, geopolitical and technological) but also we consider the drivers of those risks in the form of 13 trends. Introduction
There are different virus’ that affect people across the world. It can be noted that the increased development of cities has led to the potential risks as well as challenges based on emerging infectious diseases. They have associated many risk factors with the spread of diseases in the US cities. These factors are housing conditions, people’s movement, etc. that has led to a change or proliferation of insect vectors. Other factors that have led to the spread or outbreak of viruses are poor sanitation and insufficient water supply. This has contributed to the comfortable breeding ground for insects, which carry pathogens and another transmitted infection. This paper presents information about a virus outbreak in US cities and prevalence rates based on age.
Virus Infections
Cities are considered as the perfect hotbed and breeding ground for viruses and the spread of disease as more people move to crowded areas. As the world becomes more urbanized, the more cities will grow or develop; these cities might be kept clean or well maintained. Even though big cities have all the required health care facilities such as a sanitation department, but the moment the population increases the city always outgrows these service. According to the study conducted by Adda, (2016), there is an increased number of people traveling in the US, and this might be the reason for the virus outbreak. The individual cities in the United States have shown different transmission patterns, which are different due to climate variation etc.

The Figure above presents virus spread according to the age. The findings show that people aged less than years are highly affected by the virus as compared to any other age group. This age group has reported a high number of cases in most cities in the US. The ages least affected are between 19 and 30; this group has a lower number of cases in all cities as compared to any other group. People aged 18 years and less has a high prevalence rate of 0.43 while those aged between 19 and 30 had a prevalence rate of 0.154. The findings imply that younger people are highly affected by virus across all cities in the US.

Climate Change, Resource Scarcity and Conflict
Natural resource scarcity and global climate change may alter the risk of violent conflict in the future. Resource scarcity to meet basic needs such as food and land and water can be worsened by governmental ineffectiveness, and vulnerability of populations, ecosystems, economies, and institutions can outweigh the magnitude of climate or scarcity impacts themselves. Resource availability must be seen not as a stand alone issue, but rather in the context of the overall political economy landscape. Policymakers can benefit from the use of surveillance, early warning systems, and risk anticipation to plan for coming natural disasters and associated scarcity. Development of resilience can offer valuable adaptation and risk reduction methodologies while international action needs to focus on improving cooperation and resilience of international markets through multilateral trade rules or stockpiling of key commodities. Too often, the natural environment is directly attacked or damaged by warfare. Attacks can lead to water, soil and land contamination, or release pollutants into the air. Explosive remnants of war can contaminate soil and water sources, and harm wildlife. Such environmental degradation reduces peoples resilience and ability to adapt to climate change. The indirect effects of conflict can also result in further environmental degradation, for example authorities are less able to manage and protect the environment large scale displacement places strain on resources natural resources can be exploited to sustain war economies. In Fao, south of Basra, Iraq, people blame their water and farming problems on the felling of date palms for military purposes during the Iran Iraq war. Conflict can also contribute to climate change. For example, the destruction of large areas of forest, or damage to infrastructure such as oil installations or big industrial facilities, can have detrimental climate consequences, including the release of large volumes of greenhouse gases into the air. It is food (in)security that lies at the heart of every conflict today and yet invisible to most in its most fundamental context as a matter, and driver, of global security and defense. Special Operations Forces (SOF) offer unique capabilities that can respond best to USAID Administrator Samantha Powers’ concluding statement in the 2022-2026 U.S. Global Food Security Strategy that, “Conflict remains the single largest driver of food crises worldwide, so the Strategy also leverages investments in conflict mitigation, peacebuilding, and social cohesion.”

Climate change is disproportionately affecting poor communities in developing countries like Ethiopia. Two communities in Ethiopia were surveyed to understand their perceptions of and ability to adapt to climate change impacts like drought. The communities demonstrated good awareness of climate impacts but lagged in adaptation efforts due to limited resources. While communities are actively adapting, their capacity is insufficient to deal with increasing disaster frequency and severity expected due to climate change. Increased global support is urgently needed to help vulnerable communities adapt.
