The clavicle is an S-shaped bone located horizontally across the upper ribcage that connects the sternum to the scapula. It plays an essential role in shoulder movement by acting as a brace, allowing weight to be transferred from the upper limbs to the axial skeleton. A clavicle fracture can be indicated by trauma, tenderness, deformity, or congenital abnormalities and caused by symptoms such as severe pain with shoulder movement, swelling, bruising, and shoulder sagging.
