ORIENTATION
HISTORY OF SAINT MARTIN ACADEMY INC.
Saint Martin Academy, Inc. was formerly Saint Martin
Parochial School, and it started as a Pre-School. Msgr. Jesus
Frantilla, zealous parish priest of St. Martin of Tours, Dumalag
founded it on October 26, 1947. Through the founder’s genuine
paternal devotion and spirit of generosity towards the
education of the youth in the mission area, Saint Martin
Academy has withstood the test not only the time but also of
financial difficulties. Shortly, after it was founded, the school
was turned over to the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters
of the Most Holy Rosary of the Philippines.
SCHOOL ZEAL
The official seal of the school depicts a
Dominican Cross. The Dominican Cross is
encircled with the Latin Dominican Motto
Laudare, Benedicere and Praedicare. This
is a sacred task of every Dominican to
praise God (laudare), to bless (benedicere),
and to preach (praedicare). The star is a
sign of enlightenment as stars do give
light during the night. The school is a star
in the midst of the community where it
belongs. The star indicates the
evangelization that members of the whole
academic community should take upon
themselves through preaching and
witnessing.
