          The aim of this class observation checklist is to identify strengths and weaknesses in
          student-teachers’ delivery of speech when speaking to students during class.



       CLASS OBSERVATION                   YES        NO                       COMMENTS

At the beginning of the lesson
student-teacher looks and sounds
strong, confident and controlled.


Speaking rate is flexible and effective,
with proper understanding of when
to slow, go faster or pause.


His/her body language includes a
variety of gestures that seem fluid,
natural and appropriate.


The Student-teacher makes effective
use of eye contact with most of the
audience most of the time.


Speaking volume is controlled,
appropriate and easily adaptable
according to audience need.


Student-teacher shows a constant
fluency with a notable absence of
fillers and/or hesitation.


Student-teacher has a notable vocal
variety, particularly with changes in
pitch and tone which are integrated
into the delivery of speech.


The student-teacher seems to show
enthusiasm and/or genuine interest
in every facet of the lesson.


Visual aids are properly integrated
into speech.

The aim of this class observation checklist is to identify strengths and weaknesses in student-teachers’ delivery of speech when speaking to students during class. CLASS OBSERVATION YES NO COMMENTS At the beginning of the lesson student-teacher looks and sounds strong, confident and controlled. Speaking rate is flexible and effective, with proper understanding of when to slow, go faster or pause. His/her body language includes a variety of gestures that seem fluid, natural and appropriate. The Student-teacher makes effective use of eye contact with most of the audience most of the time. Speaking volume is controlled, appropriate and easily adaptable according to audience need.
