Overview: Understanding how data is collected is an important aspect of ensuring a research project’s or experiment’s overall validity. Research ethics is an
integral part of any valid research finding. This research will potentially have a major impact on your decision as a leader within the criminal justice organization
where you are employed. Therefore, it is vital to ensure proper findings by ethical data collection to minimize liability in your decisions.
Prompt: Read the following real-world case study: The Kansas City Preventive Patrol Experiment. Then, read the following information on predictive policing:
Evaluation of the Shreveport Predictive Policing Experiment. Think about the research and data collection methods used in both studies. Compare and contrast
both methods. Identify ways in which the findings of the research experiments could be vulnerable to liability. Suggest alternative methods to minimize liability
in the research findings. If no vulnerabilities can be identified, explain how the methods used in the research experiment preserved ethical and accurate findings.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
Compares and contrasts the data collection methods of two case studies
Identifies the vulnerabilities of the research findings and/or explains if methods used preserved ethical and accurate findings
Suggests alternative methods to limit liabilities
Guidelines for Submission: Your paper must be submitted as a 2- to 3-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font,

Summary of strengths:
My strengths as a nursing professional are built on my ability to
identify signs and symptoms
21. of psychiatric conditions that patients might be suffering from.
This is important because it
aids in the diagnostic process of the patient. The patients are
able to get the right course of
treatment. It is important to possess ability to perform
assessment of mental illnesses and give
interpretations based on assessment results (Wright et al.,
2021). It is also important to
recognize my communication abilities that help in
communication with the patient to
understand their signs and symptoms of an illness during
assessments. Communication is also
important when conducting a mental health assessment because
it aids in the evaluation of the
patient status of health. Communication also helps in the
building the patient health history
which is important in fast tracking their past health procedures
or underlying conditions they
might have, and may have significant importance in determining
possible health problem that
the patient may be suffering from (Wright et al., 2021). For
instance, when communicating
with a patient who is suffering from a mental health Illness I
22. can identify related symptoms
such as hallucination, another related symptoms. When working
in a healthcare setting, it is
important to collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
This is made possible by the fact
that I regard professional relationships. This has been
profoundly built on cultural
competencies that make it easier to work in a multicultural
team. For instance, being
empathetic with patients and appreciating their cultural
diversities has been significant
strength to work in a group with diverse patients and other
healthcare professionals. I have
been able to interact with people with different beliefs without
being judgmental (Wright et al.,
2021). This has enhanced the effectiveness of the diagnostic
plans that I recommend to
patients.
Opportunities for growth:
Despite my strengths, there are areas that I need to make
improvements so that that I can
continue providing services that are unmatched to patients. I
23. have a record of providing quality
services to the patients, but I have realized the importance of
seeking to improve these
services. One area that needs to be improved is using laboratory
services to assess patients.
This is important because it would aid in not only identifying
the condition but also
determining the seriousness of the condition under
consideration. Another important
consideration is developing ethical guideline competencies,
which is gaining important
considerations when dealing patients at the group level and with
patients (Rief, 2021). Patient
privacy is primary importance and should be protected. During
therapeutic process, a patient
may disclose information that is sensitive to their care givers
because they trust them.
Therefore, they should be protected at all times by the care
giver. I want to be honest and gain
trust from my patients, which is essential for essential
treatment. I also need to improve my
development of treatment strategies for patients. This could be
improved by comprehension of
24. patients being affected by diverse factors such as age and
medical conditions (Rief, 2021).
Therefore, it is important to develop personalized treatment
plans for patients. It is also
important to assess current treatment strategy and make
modifications as appropriate. This
would be promoted by understanding treatment strategies for
patients that differ based on
underlying conditions.
Now, write three to four (3–4) possible goals and objectives for
this practicum experience.
Ensure that they follow the SMART Strategy, as described in
the Learning Resources.
1. Goal: By day 5 I need to develop appropriate skills to help in
the selection of
appropriate treatment plans for patients.
a. Objective: I will take an active role in the treatment
processes to understand how
treatment plans are developed by my preceptor.
b. Objective: I will engage in an evaluation for different
treatment approaches
25. available and the most reliable approach for patients.
c. Objective: develop assessment skills by actively being
involved when assessments
are conducted by my preceptor.
2. Goal: understand assessment approaches demonstrating
proper diagnosis skills by day
5 during the practicum.
a. Objective: Study patient history to understand their medical
history and how
current treatment can be developed based on past medical
history.
b. Objective: Understand probable diagnostics that the patient
should be assessed for.
c. Objective: learn to use DSM-5 reference results in
determining differential
diagnostics.
3. Goal: By week 4, develop clinical abilities to conduct and
interpret clinical test results
for psychiatric tests more accurately.
26. a. Objective: Develop capabilities to differentiate ethical
guidelines for
psychotherapeutic processes.
b. Objective: Gain skills to conduct psychosocial evaluation
independently
c. Objective: Use assessment results to make diagnosis and
recommend a treatment
strategy that suits the patient.

Master of Science in Nursing
Practicum Experience Plan
Overview:
Your Practicum experience includes working in a clinical
setting that will help you gain the knowledge and skills needed
as an advanced practice nurse. In your practicum experience,
you will develop a practicum plan that sets forth objectives to
frame and guide your practicum experience.
As part of your Practicum Experience Plan, you will not only
plan for your learning in your practicum experience but al so
work through various patient visits with focused notes as well
as one (1) journal entry.
Part 2: Individualized Practicum Learning Objectives
Refer to the instructions in Week 2 to create individualized
practicum learning objectives that meet the requirements for
this course. These objectives should be aligned specifically to
your Practicum experience. Your objectives should address your
self-assessment of the skills found in the “PMHNP Clinical
28. Skills Self-Assessment Form” you completed in Week 1.
As you develop your individualized practicum learning
objective, be sure to write them using the SMART format. Use
the resources found in Week 2 to guide your development. Once
you review your resources, continue and complete the
following.
Note: Please make sure each of your objectives are
connected to your self-assessment. Also, consider that you will
need to demonstrate how you are advancing your knowledge in
the clinical specialty.
** YOU MUST HAVE 3 NEW OBJECTIVES EACH
QUARTER. You may include previous practicum objectives;
however, you still must have 3 new objectives for your current
course.
Objective 1: <write your objective here> (
Note: this objective should relate to a specific skill you
would like to improve from your self-assessment)
Planned Activities:
Mode of Assessment: (Note: Verification will be documented in
Meditrek)
PRAC Course Outcome(s) Addressed:
· (for example) Develop professional plans in advanced nursing
practice for the practicum experience
· (for example) Assess advanced practice nursing skills for
strengths and opportunities
30. are committing to an organized plan that will frame your
practicum experience in a clinical setting, including planned
activities, assessment, and achievement of defined outcomes. In
particular, your plan must address the categories of clinical
reasoning, quality in your clinical specialty, and interpersonal
collaborative practice.
For this Assignment, you will consider the areas you aim to
focus on to gain practical experience as an advanced practice
nurse. Then, you will develop a Practicum Experience Plan
(PEP) containing the objectives you will fulfill in order to
achieve your aims. In this practicum experience, when
developing your goals and objectives, be sure to keep PMHNP
clinical skills in mind.
Instructions:
· Review your Clinical Skills Self-Assessment Form you
submitted last week (See attached document) and think about
areas for which you would like to gain application-level
experience and/or continued growth as an advanced practice
nurse. How can your experiences in the practicum help you
achieve these aims? There may be overlap between your skills
goals and your PEP goals.
· Select one nursing theory and one counseling theory to best
guide your clinical practice. Explain why you selected these
theories. Support your approach with evidence-based literature.
· Record the required information in each area of the Practicum
Experience Plan template (Attached)
· Including three (3) measurable practicum Learning Objectives
you will use to facilitate your learning during the
practicum experience.
· At least 3 references.
