hen a biopic is
being made as a
film, more than the
normal film, an extra
attention is to be
given to the subject, noting every minute
detail correctly. But it seems that care
was lost while making Azhar. Just like
any other normal film, Azhar was made
adding all the commercial ingredients,
which finally made one forget that they are
watching a biopic.
Opened to the mixed reviews, the film
could not sustain the run at the theaters.
Emraan Hashmi could not step into the
shoes of the star cricketer Azharuddin, but
just showed himself on the screen. That
was tasted bad and made a huge negative
impact on the movie’s result.

S
arbjit is a female centric film
with the male’s title. The 23
years struggle of Dalbir Kaur
(Aishwarya Rai), to rescue
her brother Sarbjit (Randeep
Hooda) is what the film all about. Aish
is at her best in performance. The pain,
aggressiveness, love and several such
emotions she brought out through
the character, surely deserves a loud
applause.
The horrible situations criminals face in
the jails, and the pain they have for the
family is showed in a deadly realistic way.
Especially, the way Randeep screams
out with Aish, about his position in the jail,
squeezes the hearts of many.
The movie gained a positive buzz right
from the first day. Though it was away
from the commercial elements, the film is
still doing well with the notable collections.

he concept of the time
machine was introduced
to the Tollywood audience
through Aditya 369.
Smelling the similar line,
24 movie was made. An old watch does
all the magic in a guy’s life, revealing his
past and the horrible situations, his family
faced then.
The story was first narrated to Mahesh
Babu, and upon his rejection, has reached
Suriya, who immediately gave his nod,
liking it immensely. After Gajini, 24 is the
second biggest success of Suriya, among
the experimental subjects.
The film was released simultaneously in
both Telugu and Tamil languages and
scored a huge success in both the places.
24 is directed by Manam fame, Vikram K
Kumar and is produced by Suriya himself,
under his banner 2D entertainments.

Leni Jeevitham” and
“Subramanyam for Sale”,
Sai Dharam Tej, has
secured another success,
through Supreme. Interesting narration
with the timing comedy and Sai Dharam
Tej’s energetic performance, all were
added in the required ingredients, making
the film, a huge success.
The effort a taxi driver takes in bringing
back a kidnapped kid, forms the crux
of Supreme. Though the story has not
much uniqueness, the screenplay makes
one walk to the Supreme theaters on a
repeated mode.
Anil Ravipudi who earlier directed Pataas
with Kalyan Ram and scored good
success, has earned the similar luck with
the Supreme too, thus concreting his
position as a Tollywood’s director.

Story :
Azhar happens to be the life story
of legendary cricketer Mohammad
Azharuddin who has been into
controversies because of his
match fixing allegations. The film
starts off with a matching winning
performance in his 99th test after
which he will be caught in a sting
operation after which he dreams
of playing his 100th test as he gets
banned. Azhar explains about his
married life with Naureen (Prachi
Desai) and his love story with
Sangeetha (Nargis Fakhri). This
forms the entire story of Azhar.

Analysis :
The first half of Azhar has been
completely interesting as it
narrates some crucial points that
happened in the life of Mohammad
Azharuddin. The complete
narration has been girpping enough
that it surprises the audience
though they know the complete
plot of the film. The songs and the
entertainment along with Emraan
Hashmi’s performance makes
the first half outstanding. The
interval episodes have been quite
interesting.
The second half of Azhar too
maintains the expected race. The
love story along with the struggle
of the legendary cricketer has been
well narrated which makes the film
worth watching. The screenplay
is the major highlight of the movie
and the climax of Azhar takes the
film to the next level. On the whole
Azhar is sure worth watching for
the acting abilities by Emraan and
for the engaging narration by Tony
D’Souza.

Story :
Sarbjit is the life story of a
Punjabi farmer named Sarabjit
Singh (Randeep Hooda) and is
a collection of his life moments
which created huge buzz across
the country. It is not the story we
already know as it brings out many
unknown facts from Sarbjit's life.
A Punjabi farmer gets trapped in
Pakistani and he will be forced
to agree that he has convicted a
crime that he never performed. It
is his sister Dalbir Kaur (Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan) who fights for
justice and the rest of the film is
if the justice has been served.
It is known that Sarbjit will be
brought to his homeland but it
unfortunately happens only after
his demise. Watch this brutal and
heart breaking film on main screen
to know how it happened.
Analysis :
Randeep Hooda who proved
himself as an actor has done
a remarkable job in portraying
the emotions, affection, sorrow,
frustration and helplessness. His
performance as Sarbjit will sure be
remembered for ages. A special
care has been taken on his body
language and the way his character
has been designed. Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan comes out with a
strong and dignified performance
as Dalbir Kaur. She carried the film
on her shoulders with her fearless
performance throughout.

Story :
24 is the story of Mani (Suriya)
who works as a watch mechanic.
He falls in love with Satya
(Samantha) who is a student and
one fine day he gets the key for a
box that he owns from the past 26
years. After opening the box, he
comes across a watch which can
travel according to the requirement
and he will be surprised. After this
he comes to know about Athreya
(Suriya) and Sethuraman (Suriya).
The rest of 24 is about the relation
between Mani, Athreya and
Sethuraman. Watch 24 to know

Analysis :
The first half of 24 has been
exceptional right from the first
frame. The movie has been
brilliantly written and the narration
has been flawless. Suriya excelled
in all the three characters to the
peaks. The love story has been
pleasant and the action episodes
have been fearless. The interval
episodes leave a strong impact on
the audience eagerly waiting for the
second half to start. On the whole
the complete first half is a treat for
the audience.
The second half of the movie too
travels with the same pace but the
audience sit back in their seats
waiting for thousands of questions
to be answered which have been
well justified. The songs have
been decent and fresh. The heat
has been travelled throughout the
movie and the pre-climax episodes
along with the climax take the film
to the next level. On the whole the
second half has been executed
with perfection and ends up on a
highly impressive note.

Suriya comes back with a bang
and 24 will sure give him the
much needed commercial hit after

Story :
Balu ( Sai Dharamtej) is a cab
driver who works hard for his
earning and supporting his father
(Rajendra Prasad). He falls in
love with Bellam Sridevi (Rashi
Khanna) who is a cop and things
change completely when Balu
comes across Rajan (a kid) who
has a responsibility on him. Balu
and his father comes to know
about it and the rest of Supreme is
about the ruggish journey of Balu
and his team in saving the lives of
15000 people from a cold blooded
criminal Vikram Sarkar (Kabir
Singh Duhan). Watch Supreme to
know about the complete movie.
Analysis :
The first half of Supreme has been
handled with perfection balancing
all the departments. Sai Dharamtej
excelled completely and he carried
the complete film on his shoulders.
The levels of entertainment have
been completely impressive
and the action episodes have
been exceptional. The interval
episodes raise the eye brows and
the complete first half will hit the
audience hard looking forward
towards the second half.
The second half of Supreme has

the movie has enough dose of

too have been carried well and the
emotional episodes have been shot

Story :
Brahmotsavam is the story of a
son (Mahesh Babu) who follows
and believes his father in all the
aspects. His father wants to be
positive and values relations
rather than money and luxuries.
He takes the entire family to an
untouchable position because of
which he gets valued than other
members of his joint family. This
brings clashes with his brother-in-
law (Rao Ramesh) which leads to
the sudden demise of him. It is the
time when his son takes charge
and starts following his father
and his ideas. The rest of the
movie is how he gets through the
drift created in the family. Watch
Brahmotsavam to know about the
movie.
Analysis :
The movie starts on a note of
explanation and introduction of the
prominent character with the lead
roles. The film surprises everyone
as it has been filled with colors
all over. Though the film stays
interesting for the first 20 minutes,
the movie starts dipping down
slowly with unwanted emotional
episodes and the repeated content
following. Too many songs have
been placed in the first half an hour
after which the movie has nothing
much to be revealed. The pre-
climax episodes gets dragged too
much which becomes a test for the
patience of the audience. Though
the interval episode has been
expected, it has been decent. On
the whole the first half of the film
has moments to get rejoiced but it
doesn’t really impress you.
The second half of Brahmotsavam
makes it tough for the audience to
pass time and get through as it has
rarely moments to get entertained
or thrilled. The movie lacks proper
plot and the bad execution kills the
complete film.
Final Word:
Brahmotsavam is sure a costly
mistake as it lacks proper
execution and flawless narration
though the film has been filled with
a star studded cast. A film that
will completely leave everyone
disappointed.

On the other side, movies with unique and experimental
subjects, makes the heroes ‘actors’.

are the stars, who can drag
the audience and witness
the storm with the opening
collections, irrespective of
the overall result of the films.

shot, makes one analyze
that Vikram Kumar has
worked for it so hard, not

On the whole, Suriya
who is trying to score a
success with his favorite
genre- experiment, finally
achieved his desire with 24.

Why is this film titled
as 24. Is it a time-
frame?
It’s a time travel film. Hence,
24 is a numerical. I don’t
want to give away too
much before the release.
We human beings thrive
to make impossible things
possible. 150 years back,
nobody would have guessed
that we would see the
person live from the other
side of planet. Now we have
FaceTime. We never thought
we would travel to Mars. One
thing we were never able to
crack was ‘time control’. Can
we go forward in time? Can
we stop time? 24 is a small
play which Vikram Kumar
has taken control of what if
one person is able to control
time. 24 is a film that is driven
by ’time control’ and a few
loveable and believable
characters.

The Most Versatile Actor Suriya has done many innovative
films. Irrespective of the commercial records, he has been
lauded well all over for his outstanding performance in
his films. The actor scored a massive hit with 24 which
released recently and is about time control. The actor
essayed three different characters in the movie which has
been directed by Vikram Kumar. Suriya even produced the

result of 24?
I am extremely happy with
the film’s response especially
in Telugu. I have been
struggling for a commercial
hit from some time and 24
is a huge relief for me. The
innovative concept and the
execution are the reasons
for the film’s success. The
audience loved the narration
completely and 24 is more
like a disney film and is about
controlling time. We have
kept enough hard work for the
movie and we are now quite
happy with the response. I
really thank the audience for
making it a stupendous hit. 24
grabbed huge crowds across
the International circles which
left me in surprise.
Did you ever feel that
the concept is quite
complicated for the
audience to accept?
Vikram Kumar’s intention
was to make 24 film an
understandable and
enjoyable one to the front
benchers. Manam was a
complicated concept, but
narrated with such a clarity
and emotions. Likewise, 24
will be a very easy film and
with no complication at all.

How much are you
happy with Karthi’s
success for Oopiri in
Telugu?
Thank you for the love
and support. He is always
passionate about filmmaking
and enjoyed speaking Telugu
language. He has spent a
lot of time in Hyderabad,
more than me. He was
always collaborating with lot
of talents here. I am happy
that they approached Karthi.
Karthi was also in the right
mindset to agree to a film
like this. Very good content
is always respected. Not
because of success, not
because of blockbuster hit.
Your value goes up when you
give success. When you give
good content, that respect
stays in people’s heart
forever. Co-actors also look
for talents who contribute
to growth of good cinema.
I am happy that Oopiri was
accepted by the audiences. I
loved the film. Thanks to Nag
sir for letting Karthi to have
a meaty and attractive role.
Nag sir is large hearted. After
Amitabh Bachan, Nag sir is
an inspiration for me in that
aspect. I love the way he is
ageing.
About your best films till
date in your career?
Every actor need to be
blessed to have the right
people at the right time.
Lot of nice films have come
in my way. That’s why
audiences just don’t expect
an entertainer, but also a
new experience along with
entertainment from me.
1.Nanda is my first turning
point. As an actor, I also got
confidence that they see me
as a character, but not as
Surya. Thanks to Bala. Siva
Puthrudu is also an important
film.
2. Kaka Kaka has made
urbane audiences and
college students sit up and

Laawaris starred Amitabh
Bachchan, Amjad Khan, Zeenat
Aman and Raakhee. In Urdu,
"Laawaris" means bastard or
loosely means orphan. Although the
word has a negative connotation,
it is not as negative as the English
connotation. The story revolves
around an orphan who stumbles
over reality in search for his
parents.
The film was an 'All Time Highest
Earner' that year, got highest
verdict present at that time by
Trade Guide[Bollywood boxoffice
magazine], and was among those
rare movies, which crossed 2 Crore
per territory. There was only 13
All time earner[Crossed 1 Crore
per territory] movies till 1984 and
Laawaris was among them.
The movie released in 1981 and

it has been directed by Prakash
Mehra. The film became known for
its hit song "Mere Angene Mein,
Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai" rendered
twice: the first time by a young
Alka Yagnik who earned her first
Filmfare nomination as best female
playback singer, and the second
time by Amitabh Bachchan.
The second version turned out to
be a mega hit especially due to
Amitabh's performance in drag
wear. The lyrics of the song were
funny and gives tribute to all kinds
of wives be they fat, tall, dark
skinned or fair skinned. Even until
today the song is popular among
audiences.
The film is remembered for Amitabh
Bachchan's over-the-top acting and
fiery dialogues using his all famous
Bachchan-baritone, his charismatic
and stylish screen presence. It was
another movie of Prakash Mehra
where the ending have similarity
with the ending of Namak Halal
with his favourite villain Ranjeet
and Satyen Kapoor.
