proposes to Binny who never
accepts him neither rejects
him. With number of issues
increasing and binny irritating
Gattu, things change completely.

Analysis :
The first half of Behen Hogi Teri
has been dencent and engaging
with some impressive entertainment
throughout. Rajkumar Rao takes
many episodes to the next level
and some of the interesting scenes
make Behen Hogi Teri decent. Most
of logics have been well written
throughout the first half. The movie
looks natural with many colony
episodes and many interesting
characters coming around. On the
whole the first half of Behen Hogi Teri
has been convincing.
The second half of Behen Hogi Teri
surprisingly makes no impact on
the audience. The major plot has
been sidelined and Behen Hogi Teri
loses the needed grip. After such a
decent first half, the second half gets
hammered after the plot misses the
major logic. After the audience get
irritated completely, the film inches
towards completion. On the whole the
second half of Behen Hogi Teri falls
flat.
Final Word:
Behen Hogi Teri is a huge misfire as
it lacks an interesting and engaging
second half. Though the lead actors
excel, that alone cannot save the film
from a debacle.

Story :
Raabta is the story of Shiv
(Sushant Singh Rajput) who
moves to Budapest after which
he falls for Saira (Kriti Sanon)
instantly on the first sight. He
finally convinces and by the
time Saira falls for Shiv, the
third character Zak (Jim Sarbh)
who is a liquor baron. He is fond
of Saira and is obessed with
her after several rejections. It
is during this time Saira starts
thinking about how her bond
with Shiv seems beyond the
transcends of time and decades.
The rest of Raabta is all about
the past and what happens next.
Watch the film to know about
many interesting facts.
Analysis :
Raabta has some interesting
moments and the romantic
episodes which will sure impress
a set of young audience. But this
alone is not enough for a film to
end up impressive. Raabta has
many poorly written episodes and
most of them look fake. Things
change within fraction of seconds
and the film switches a romantic
saga to the deadly Game of
Thrones which is something hard
to digest. The songs have been
decent but the characters have
not been linked good. With many
flaws, the first half of Raabta tries
hard to convince the audience.
At the same time, the second
half of Raabta too suffers huge
lag because of the poor writing
and narration skills. Most of the
episodes have been loosely
executed and looks outdated.
Sushant Singh Rajput seems
hyper active in many of the
episodes and some of the
characters have been utterly
wasted. Jim Sarbh has been
extremely stupendous on screen
but his character has not been
written well. With a poor second
half, Raabta ends up on a dull
note and it completely fails to
impress the audience.
Final Word:
Raabta is a film that fails to stand
balancing with the cross over
love stories. A film that can be

Story :
Tubelight is the story of two
brothers Bharat (Sohail Khan)
and Laxman (Salman Khan)
who are orphans. They share a
close bonding with each other
that they live for each other.
Things change completely after
Bharat joins army and heads
for the India – China war. This is
during this time, Laxman misses
his brother badly and starts
his journey for him. The rest of
the film is all about the people
he meets and bonds during
this journey. Watch Tubelight
to know if Laxman meets his
brother Bharat.
Analysis :
The first half of Tubelight
manages to build the characters
of the film. The narration has
been dead slow that it leaves the
audience irritated. Though the
film lacks interesting plot, Kabir
Khan manages to narrate the
film depending on the bonding
between two brothers. Salman
has been showcased in a never
seen dull character which may
not be digested by most of the
audience and his fans. The first
half of Tubelight offers nothing.
The second half which is quite
crucial too manages to stand
dull and makes no impact all
over. The songs look completely
outdated and they test the
patience of the audience. The
unwanted characters kill the
film’s flavour completely and
Tubelight on the whole fails in
all the available ways to impress
the audience. With a routine and
predictable climax, Tubelight
second half is a massive
disappointment.

Story :
Ami Thumi is the story of
Gangadhar Rao (Thanikella
Bharani) who is strictly against
his daughter’s (Eesha) love
story with Ananth (Adivi
Sesh). He fixes her marriage
with Sreechilipi (Vennela
Kishore). The twist comes
when Gangadhar’s son Vijay
(Srinivas Avasarala) falls in
love with his rival’s daughter
Maaya (Aditi). Frustrated with
his children, Gangadhar Rao
locks his daughter inside a room
and sends his son out. The rest
of Ami Thumi is all about what
happens next. Watch Ami Thumi

and how Sreechilipi keeps them
engaging.
Analysis :
Ami Thumi has no rocket science
in but it is quite simple. The
plot looks predictable but it is
the interesting screenplay that
drives the film forward. The entire
first half has been entertaining
throughout without a single song.
The film looks passable with clean
entertainment and the mistaken
identity is the major concept
that takes the film forward. The
performances by all the lead actors
are the major highlights of the film
and the first half of Ami Thumi has
its moments.

a low note but the second half of
the movie starts with a bang. The
dose of entertainment and the
situational comedy tops the show
and Vennela Kishore is all set to
make a massive impact with Ami
Thumi. The tricky situations and
the gripping screenplay are the
major highlights of the second half.
The pre-climax episodes make Ami
Thumi an interesting drama and
the film ends on a decent note.

Marakathamani is all about an

steal the precious stone get
killed in mysterious situations.

hunting for Marakathamani.

takes the support of some evil
spirits to stay alive. The rest of

process of Aadi’s journey with
Marakathamani. Watch the film

Analysis :
The first half of Marakathamani
starts on a slow note and it
takes much time for the real
plot to be unveiled. Though the
entertainment has been decent,
the film has many unwanted
episodes will kill the curiosity
among the audience. It is during
the interval, the major plot gets
unfolded and it turns interesting.
Aadi leads the show with his
flawless performance and the
love story looks fresh.
The second half of
Marakathamani too has many
unwanted episodes. The major
plot has been kept aside for
most of the time and the most
interesting episodes have been
hurried up. The pre-climax
episodes look promising and by
the time the film turns interesting
again, the climax inches. The
villain’s thread looks completely
silly which kills the film’s flavour

Story :
Duvvada Jagannadham is the
story of Jagannadha Sastry
(Allu Arjun) who hails from
a Brahmin family residing in
Vijayawada. An unexpected
incident shatters him after
which he turns DJ. The rest
of the film is all about DJ
and about his sacrifice for
his family. He falls in love
with Pooja (Pooja Hegde)
and Duvvada Jagannadham
narrates how DJ wins his love
for Pooja. Watch the film to
know about the rest.
Analysis :
Duvvada Jagannadham
has no interesting plot and
Harish Shankar tried out his
best to elevate the character
of Allu Arjun showcasing
him as a Brahmin. Except
some interesting episodes,
Duvvada Jagannadham
looks completely predictable
and outdated. The dose of
Brahmin accent and the
presentation of Allu Arjun
irritates the audience to the
core.
Some of the catchy dialogues
have been repeated number
of times that they make no
impact on the audience. The
songs too look pretty average
though lavish sets have been
erected for the film. The pre-

been shot well and the climax
looks ok. On the whole,

ways in emerging out as a

Duvvada Jagannadham
Devi Sri Prasad composed
the film's music while
Ayananka Bose handled the
cinematography. Principal
photography commenced in
August 2016 in Hyderabad
along with Abu Dhabi. The
production crew chose Abu
Dhabi, as they would benefit
from the Emirate's 30%
rebate scheme. The film was
released on June 23, 2017,
with theater cut of 2 hours 40
minutes.
Initially Shruti Haasan
and Kajal Aggarwal were
approached for the lead
actress. But Pooja Hegde
was finalised for that role.
The film team placed a
statute of Lord Shiva in
Chennakeshava Temple in
Belur. This is against the
custom and tradition of the
temple and opposed by
the temple priests. The film
team got permission from
the Department of History
and Archaeology for the
shoot and resumed it. The
film completed the shooting
of major action episodes at
Aluminum factory Hyderabad
on April 21, 2017. The songs
and the trailer have been
massive hits and raised the
expectations on the film.

managed to get huge
openings across the globe.

DJ IS THE MOST MEMORABLE FILM

Sensational director Harish Shankar
scored massive hits along with the same
time he tasted many debacles. He pinned
all his hopes on Duvvada Jagannadham
starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the
lead roles.

of Harish Shankar where he
revealed many interesting
facts about DJ:
What is it about DJ that you feel
Telugu audiences of today will
relate to the most?
Before being a writer or director,
I was and am the biggest hero-
worshiping audience. I feel that
DJ encompasses the kind of
heroism that Telugu audiences
love to see on screen; even the
kind of dialogues and dances
people love to see by Allu Arjun,
everything is there in the film.
At the same time, even though
I’m known to make commercial,
mass films, I’ve also been
claimed as a contemporary,
youth director so the sensibilities
of my films are always updated
to match current times. I think
the trendy music by DSP and
the characterization of the hero
will be the most interesting parts
while the story as a whole will
keep the audience engrossed.
How is the film performing
and what do you feel about the
negative reviews?
I am extremely happy with the
film’s performance and about the
negative reviews, I have nothing
much to say. The revenues are
most crucial for any movie and
DJ proved it with the collections.
Everyone calls Allu Arjun a
perfectionist. How was your
experience working with him for
the first time in DJ?
Absolutely, no doubt Allu Arjun
is a perfectionist! An artist like
him pushes a writer-director like
me to give their best. I believe
that perfectionism is always
helpful to a film so I enjoyed
each and every day of the shoot
working with him. If you see our
working stills you will see that
there are no serious stills, we
are always laughing like college
mates. When you love what you
do obviously the best will come
and that is what happened with
DJ.
The Brahmin community has had
a lot of issues with the lyrics of
a song in DJ. How did you feel
about that?
First of all, there were not a
lot of objections. There was an
objection for two words in the
lyrics. We met and discussed
with the concerned parties, we
explained to them the meaning
the lyricist attempted to convey
and they explained what could
be the audience’s interpretation.
And after thorough discussion
we agreed to change the lyrics so
in the film the new lyrics will be
heard.
There was a lot of conflict
between Pawan Kalyan’s and
Allu Arjun’s fans in recent times.
Did you feel the need to speak
about Pawan Kalyan more at the
audio function of DJ because of
it?
It’s not just at the DJ audio
function, even during Mukunda
I spoke about Pawan Kalyan. As
I already mentioned in the event,
first I was a Pawan Kalyan fan
and then I became a director, so
I don’t think I spoke about him
because of any conflict. Also as
the hero said, mega fans means
Chiranjeevi fans, Pawan Kalyan
fans, Allu Arjun fans, Ram
Charan fans, Varun Tej fans, Sai
Dharm Tej fans, everyone comes
under mega fans.
Will you be doing more small
films? And will you also be
considering producing them?
Of course, the production
plan is on. I’m waiting for the
right script and director. I’ll be
producing and directing more
concept films.
What are your plans after DJ?
I have three storylines ready
and two commitments
with producers but I will

Pooja Hegde is an Indian model and actress who appears
mainly in Hindi and Telugu Films. A former beauty pageant
contestant, she was crowned as the second runner-up at the

Mugamoodi (2012).
