Salman Khan set a benchmark for the ultimate
Boy Scout with his Bajrangi Bhaijaan act, and
now he surprises us even more. His character
is so virtuous that you will walk out of the
theatre fighting a morality crisis. He has a
counterpart in Maithili who is solidly under-
pressure to perform as per the royal decree.
Our Miss goody two-shoes runs an NGO,
eats at not-so-classy restaurants and wears
matching clothes. And yes, she sometimes likes
to flaunt her little black dress for some ‘quality
time’ with her fiancé. Just to make sure the
message is conveyed to the audience, Diwan
Jee (Anupam Kher) explains ‘quality time’ with
a lot of hesitation and innuendos. On second
thoughts, you need to do this in a film which
is strictly vegetarian in its approach. For your
reference, people eat veg korma, tanduri bhindi
and butter chole in PRDP.

Thoongavanam
Kamal Haasan’s latest release ‘Thoongavanam’
also starring Trisha Krishnan has been
receiving praises from all over. The movie,
which seems to be spreading by a positive word
of mouth, is being looked forward to doing good
business at the box office this Diwali.
A bilingual crime thriller movie, ‘Thoongavanam’
has been directed by Rajesh M. Selva. It is an
adaptation of the 2011 French film Sleepless
Night.
There is a lot being said about the Kamal
Haasan film which was desperately awaited by
the fans of the superstar.

Akhil revolves around the back
story of JUA, which is considered
by the tribes of Africa as a sacred
entity that saves the world from
destruction. Akhil (Akhil Akkineni)
and his love Divya (Sayesha
Saigal) were like any of us. But
how did a normal guy like Akhil fall
in the pursuit of JUA and what role
does Divya play? Does Akhil hold a
connect with the whole concept of
JUA? you got to untie the threads
along with the highly stuffed
commercial elements in theaters.

Vijay Singh (Salman Khan) is
the King of Pritampur who has a
huge dynasty lead by him. He has
enemies surrounded in his family
and his brother Ajay Singh (Neil
Nithin Mukesh) attempts to kill
him. He will be survived by injuries
four days before the oath taking
ceremony and during this time,
Deewan (Anupham Kher) who is
the close disciple of Vijay Singh
finds a replacement Prem Diwale
(Salman Khan) who likes like the
King. He manages the guests
fitting in the shoes of the King and
impresses all the family members
including the princess (Sonam
Kapoor). All the relations that have
been left will be back after the
entry of Prem and the rest of the
movie is the return back of Vijay
Singh joining the family. Watch the
complete film to know about the
rest.
Analysis :
The first half of the film starts
with a classic touch narrating the
characters. Though the film has
been completely predictable the
characters and their performances
elevate the film completely. The
songs have been rich and beautiful
with lavish sets all around. The
visuals have been stunning
throughout and the narration has
been poetic. On the whole the
complete first half has been decent
except some flaws which make the
film slower.
Final Word:
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will appeal
to family crowds for the sensible
and emotional content. Salman
Khan and Sonam Kapoor tops the
show.

Story
Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir
Kapoor) is a fun loving guy who
likes to enjoy his life on his own.
He loves to behave according
to his heart but his father makes
the difference. His father (Javed
Sheik) forces him I his education
and his job which makes Ved to
work as a project manager. During
this time he happens to meet Tara
Maheshwari (Deepika Padukone)
who behaves and thinks similar to
him. The duo comes to a contract
that they will love each other and
will not reveal about personal
things and family information. After
a smooth pace, Tara comes to
know about Ved’s job which breaks
her heart. Ved becomes an animal
during this time and the rest of the
film is what happens next. Watch
Tamasha to know about the rest
Analysis :
The first half of Tamasha has
been well written and narrated
good. The characters have
been well designed and the love
making scenes during the first half
have been completely fresh and
entertaining. The songs have been
shot in beautiful locales which
elevate the film well. On the whole
the complete first half has been
above the expectations.
The story of the movie has been
thin but it has been elaborated
well. The screenplay of the movie
during the second half should
have been taken extra care. The
dialogues have been decent and
so is the music. The background
score and the cinematography are
the major highlights of the movie.
The production values have been
grand and rich enough. Imtiaz Ali
managed to deliver well with the
first half but the second half dips
badly.
Final Word:
Tamasha will end up as a half
cooked meal as the movie gets
deviated during the second half.
Ranbir and Deepika Padukone
steals the show.
Shahid Kapoor has
been stupendous
and this is the way
audience wants
him to see exactly.
He has been
exceptional during
the entertainment
episodes.

Story
Akhil is the story about the
Jua which has been made by
maharshis during the olden days
to protect the world from natural
calamities. Some so called
terrorists and mafia dons aim
to rob the Jua from the African
community who have been
protecting it from years. The Jua
will be given to Bodo who is the
only eductated in their community.
He hides it in a secret place
and reveals the secret to Divya
(Sayesha Saigal) who is a medical
student by profession. Akhil (Akhil
Akkineni) is an orphan and fun
going guy who falls in love with
Divya. He comes to know about
Jua and the rest of the film is how
he saved the world and Divya from
the threat of the mafia dons. Watch
the complete film to know about the
rest.
Analysis :
The first half of Akhil has been
fresh and entertaining. The racy
narration and Akhil’s performance
make the audience completely
comfortable throughout the first
half. Sayesha has been beautiful
and the songs have been shot
extremely well. Though the interval
episodes have been predictable,
the first half has been handled well.
The second half of the movie
shocks the audience as the main
plot has been completely ignored.
When the comedy episodes take
the major role, the audience get
irritated and the movie dips badly.
The second half of the film has
nothing much to offer except Akhil’s
energetic performance.
Final Word:
Akhil projects the abilities of Akhil
Akkineni and the film has nothing
much to offer. A disappointment.
Akhil Akkineni is the
only saviour for the film
and he has performed
with ease. He has been
exceptional in the
action episodes and his
dance movements are
the highlights of the film.
Akhil will sure make big
in Tollywood and will be
a tough competitor for
young actors. Sayesha
Saigal has been
beautiful and glamorous
throughout the film.

KOLLYWOOD
Story
Sweety (Anushka) is an obessed
girl who works in a restaurant
staying with her mother, brother
and grandfather. Sweety gets
rejected big time by many guys
to get married and her mother
(Urvashi) gets frustrated thinking
that Sweety will never get married.
Abhi (Arya) who is not interested
to get married comes to see
Sweety but they come to an
understanding ending up Sweety
rejecting him. They manage to be
good friends after which Sweety’s
mother joins her in a weight loss
program in Size Zero. Sweety
comes to know that they use many
drugs due to which health gets
spoiled and the rest of the movie
is how Sweety fights to prove that
Size Zero is all fake.
Analysis :
The first half of the movie has
been peaceful and pleasant. The
entertainment has been quoted
along with the flow which looks
quite natural. The songs have been
shot completely different and they
have been apt. Though the plot has
been predictable, the interesting
and poetic narration makes the
complete first half impressive.
The climax has been presented
differently and on the whole the
second half has been entertaining
with a strong social message.
Final Word:
Size Zero will sure end up as a
huge winner at the multiplexes.
A cute film that impresses
for Anushka’s stupendous
performance and heart touching
emotions. Go and watch it with your
family.

Story
Cheekati Raajyam is the story
of Diwakar (Kamal Haasan) who
works as a Chief for Narcotics
Bureau. He handles an operation
to catch the corrupted in the
department. In this process he
catches a gang who are exporting
drugs and Vittal Rao (Prakash
Raj) who is a goon in the city is
the best drug supplier. He kidnaps
Diwakar’s son Vasu and in returns
he asks him to bring the drug
packets caught. The rest of the
film is how Diwakar saves his
son killing all the corrupted ones.
Watch the complete film to know
about the rest.
Analysis :
The first half of the film has been
quite interesting and has been
narrated well. The suspense has
been maintained throughout with
the performances taking the film
to the next level. The background
score elevated the important
episodes well and the complete first
half has been satisfactory.
The second half of the movie
has nothing much to do as the
complete plot has been revealed
during the first half. Some of the
scenes have been dragged too
much and the director missed the
main logics that made the film fall
flat. The pre climax and the climax
episodes have not been interesting.
On the whole the second half is a
disappointment.
Final Word:
Cheekati Rajyam has an engaging
and interesting first half. But
the second half of the film is the
spoiler. A predictable thriller.

good background, is even
tougher, as the expectations
would be in the sky and would
be tough to reach those.
Needless to say that, Akki-
neni Akhil fits into the second
category. Possessing a huge
brand called Akkineni in front
of his name, Akhil made an
entry into the films, amidst of
high expectations among the
Akkineni fans.
No romance, only action -
Akhil
‘Akkineni’ is a brand of ro-
mance in Tollywood. Right
from Nageshwara Rao, all the
Akkineni actors are identified
as romantic heroes.
But a ticket vendor feels
restless, selling back to back
tickets, only for a commercial
entertainer movie, with full of
mass elements. Luckily, this
logic was identified by Akhil,
before the start of his career
and had decided to establish
as a full fledged action hero,
rather than continuing with the
Akkineni tradition of romance.
So, the path has decided
and Akhil needs a director
to portray him well into the
mass audience. Who else can
handle such mass audience,
better than VV Vinayak.
Strengthening it, VV Vinayak
has launched Bellamkonda
Suresh’s son Bellakonda
Srinivas and delivered a good
success in the form of Alludu
Seenu. Adding to it, stars
like Nithin, NTR got the mass
following, after acting under
Vinayak’s direction.
What more is needed to give
the responsibility launching
Akhil tas an action hero, to
Vinayak.
Akhil movie was started un-
der Vinayak’s direction, with
hero Nithin as the producer.
(In fact, it is Nithin, who sug-
gested Akhil, to be an action
hero.)
Before the day of shoot
launch, a small function was
held among the fans. In that
function, Akhil’s voice and
the way he communicated to
the fans, attracted even the
normal audience, along with
Akkineni fans.
But many doubted that, Akhil’s
decision to grow up in the ac-
tion genre, might be tough, as
term ‘Akkineni’ is famous for
‘Romance’.
Akhil movie was
started under
Vinayak’s direction,
with hero Nithin
as the producer. (In
fact, it is Nithin, who
suggested Akhil, to be
an action hero.)
Getting into the films, with no background,
is tough, as the audience takes time to walk
for them, towards the theatres.

But Akhil was strict on his
decision and completed the
movie. Though in the begin-
ning, it was decided to release
on Dussehra, the last minute
adjustments moved the film to
Diwali.
As expected, Akhil movie got
good openings, but unfortu-
nately, it could not continue
the same enthusiasm. Report-
edly, the content and screen-
play went wrong and that
named Akhil as an average
flick.
Movie’s negative result
is fortune for Akhil!
But I say, even the result of
the movie is a good start to
Akhil’s career. The reason be-
hind this is, if at all, the movie
is good, Akhil’s acting levels
might have sounded low. But
now, even the critics said that,
Akhil has given a top notch
performance in Akhil movie.
Akhil proved that, even Ak-
kineni hero can give terrific
dance movements. When the
question is about the dance,
NTR and Allu Arjun imme-
diately comes into the mind.
After watching Akhil, one can
easily say that, even Akhil fits
into the list.
Along with dances, even
amazing fight sequences and
his dialogue delivery, with
such a base voice, is being
applauded well.
Regardless of the result of
the movie, Akhil has hinted to
Tollywood that, a finest ac-
tion hero from Akkineni family,
is about to roar loudly, in the
coming days.
Hope, he receives a good
commercial hit soon and thus
confirm berth as a mass hero.

to start a new life, to start
something that is not a part
of my path. I’ve come here to
make a new future.
You ’ve always maintained that
you loved everything about
the adult industry. But of late
there’s been a sudden change
in your statements. Why so?
Because
I’ve been forced
to! I still love everything
about the adult industry but
I’ve been forced to say that
I’m here to do this (work in
Bollywood) because people
are so horrible and mean.
Not everybody, but there
are certain groups, certain
sections who seem to have
a personal vendetta against
me because I’ve hurt them so
horribly (laughs sarcastically)…
I don’t get it. I have to start
clarifying my reason for being
here because of those people.
And also because the media
has made it such a big issue.
If the media didn’t recognize
my porn star past as a big
issue it wouldn’t have become
so big.
But in a culture like India’s,
your past might still have
been a problem even without
the media’s help…
Because I’ve been
forced to! I still love
everything about the
adult industry but I’ve
been forced to say that
I’m here to do this

It still
would have
been something I had
to deal with but if it wasn’t
created into such a huge thing
with the media and online
circulation then those people
would have never gone to that
level because all this is being
done for publicity.
All you characters so far have
always been glamorized. Do
you think it’s because of your
past or is it that you aren’t
ready to leave your comfort
zone yet?
There are a lot of movies that
I signed a long time ago and
they finished all around the
same time. So it
looks like they are
all very very similar.
But next few movies
that I’m working on
are in this very serious
drama zone and a few
comedies too.
No matter what the
story, your films are always
marketed around your
sexuality, like Ek Paheli Leela
had a lot more than just skin
show. Are you okay with it or
do you not have a say in it?
I don’t really have a say in
how they take it forward.
Certain things I definitely
voice saying that I don’t like
this and I won’t promote it,
you can do whatever you
want… because at the end
of the day it is owned by
somebody else. So how they
showcase something is really
upto them. If I don’t like it I
don’t promote it.
You said in one of your earlier
interviews that you choose
films based on scripts. Would
the criteria be same if the film
starred the Khans, Kumars or
Kapoors?
Whenever I’ve watched any
of the films of Shah Rukh or
Salman, I’ve realised they
don’t really make films that
are boring. They usually
make films that are very
very interesting for the most
part; a couple of them might
not have been so great, but
mostly they are. So it works
out for the best. But if I were
offered a character in one of
their films that I didn’t like, I
wouldn’t do it. I mean it has to
be something I’m comfortable
with… A couple of movies that
I’ve watched, not theirs, like

different movies… I felt like
that’s not the zone I want
to be in. But yes if an A-List
actor wants me to do a cameo
I’d say yes and if they asked
how much I wanted, I’d say
absolutely nothing! You know
at that point it’s only about
working with people you’ve
admired for so many years.
It’s the same thing as in the
US, if Leonardo Dicaprio’s
camp asked me if I wanted
to do a cameo in his film I
wouldn’t ask for money. I
would do it because I’ve
been dying to work with
him.
So far, all your films have
been centered around
you, but if you sign a film with
one of the A-Listers, aren’t
you worried that the focus
would shift?
If I were being side-zoned by
Mr Salman Khan, I don’t care.
It would be fine, even Shah
Rukh. It’s not that I want a film
to be all about me, I just want
to make a good product.
Daniel too is making his
Bollywood debut with
Dangerous Husn. Can we
expect to see you two pair up
onscreen?
I actually want to make a
film with Daniel. It’s all about
finding the perfect script that
captures his personality and
mine and the chemistry we
have.
So it has to
have these elements
in the movie that really

Gari Gadhi
The same thing has happened in
Raju Gari Gadhi movie case. Popular
TV anchor Ohmkar previously di-
rected a movie called Genius, which
was released with a good hype. But
unfortunately that movie could not
do well at the box office and left as
a severe disappointment.
But the thing is, the critics appreci-
ated Ohmkar’s directional skills.
Meanwhile, the movies like Kancha-
na, Prema Katha Chithram, Ganga,
Geethanjali started doing the waves
in the industry.
That made Ohmkar to re-
think about the direction and
understood that, thriller com-
edy is the current trend, with
which, a quality movie can be
made, out of the least budget.
With that thought, he invested
his own money 1.5 crore and
was supported by one of the
shareholders of MAA TV, Nim-
magadda Prasad, with another
1.5 crore.
