Introduction: You are going to learn how to sign the alphabet and numbers 1-10 all
while only using your hands!
Task: In this task you will be learning the alphabet and watching videos and
practicing on your own. Once you have done that you are going to spell out your
name to a partner and try to guess who it is. Once you have done that you will write
down how many names you have guessed and if they were right.
Process: We are going to watch videos as a class and pause and practice positioning
our hands in the same way the letters are in the videos. After we go through the
alphabet we will do the numbers 1-10 as well and do the same thing with the video
for that process too. We will practice each day for a week go over the alphabet,
letter by letter, and the numbers. We will have worksheet that you have to match
2. the hand positions to the right letter or number. Once you have done those you will
move on to a different worksheet matching the hands that spell out a word to the
correct word.
Evaluation: After you have finished your worksheets and the partner activity you
will bring it to me and will go over the grading criteria and see how you did!
Conclusion: You will have learned the whole alphabet and numbers 1-10 in
American Sign Language and will be able to communicate with people throughout
the rest of your life that are hard of hearing. All while only using just your hands!
