This document discusses conditional sentences that contain an "if" clause. It defines two types of conditional sentences: true and untrue. True conditional sentences use the present or future tense to express real possibilities, while untrue conditionals use the past or past perfect tense to express unlikely or impossible scenarios. The document further categorizes conditional sentences into three types based on the tenses used in the if and main clauses, and provides examples of each type. It also explains how to determine the factual situation based on the tense combination in the conditional sentence.
The document discusses feedback received on a film opening sequence created by the author and their group. It provides details on three key aspects of the sequence: 1) establishing threatening thug characters through a kitchen scene and costumes, which test audiences responded positively to; 2) the varied camera work though some shots were too shaky; and 3) issues with audio quality where dialogue was unclear at times due to lack of proper microphones and soundtrack overlap, which audiences suggested improving.
This document summarizes how the media product used several conventions of real thriller films. It incorporated conventions such as the antagonist having greater force than the protagonist, storylines featuring danger and fights followed by a character running for help, and focusing the storyline around the main protagonists. The document discusses how these conventions helped make the story seem realistic and conventional. However, it notes that the convention of including suspense through hidden characters may not have been effective due to the portrayal. Overall, the conventions helped appeal to audiences as a thriller genre piece.
The document discusses the impact of climate change on indigenous communities in the Pacific Islands. Rising sea levels are already affecting low-lying coastal areas and islands, destroying homes and farmland and contaminating fresh water supplies. Unless global warming is curbed, many Pacific island nations face being completely submerged by the end of the century according to current predictions.

UNIT 1: The atmosphere and the Earth's surfaceBlancaMeizoso
The document discusses the layers of the atmosphere, which include the troposphere, stratosphere, and ionosphere. The troposphere is where weather occurs and contains temperature, precipitation, and wind. It notes that the greenhouse effect is produced by increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and the ozone layer in the stratosphere protects the Earth from the Sun's rays, but is being damaged by air pollution.

MOOCs are massive open online courses that deliver educational content online to anyone interested in taking the course. They work by having a professor and technical team develop course content, which is delivered through the internet to students. Students have flexibility to learn at their own pace and are assessed continuously in an interactive online environment. MOOCs provide benefits to students, professionals, professors, universities, governments, and content providers by increasing access to education and skills development while reducing costs. However, challenges remain around student engagement, assessment, and replacing traditional education.
The student has learned that attention to detail is important for magazine production. With the student magazine, they did not consider details and layouts of existing magazines, but with the music magazine they focused on professional details in photos and layout.
They also learned that Photoshop is better than Publisher for image editing. Photoshop allowed them to improve photos by removing backgrounds and editing skin textures, while Publisher only allowed basic edits.
Through the process of creating both magazines, the student has learned about the importance of research, details, and thought that goes into magazine production. It is not as easy as it seems and requires unprecedented research and consideration of decisions.
The document discusses the author's ideas for potential short film projects in different genres. For a comedy short film, the author proposes a story about a young woman who still plays with toys and imagines they have matured along with her. For horror, the author mentions filming at a nearby graveyard but is unsure of their ability since they do not enjoy horror films. The author's preferred idea is a short film with meaning, such as about a teenage girl dealing with insecurities, though worries about scheduling with one main character.
Documentaries follow certain codes and conventions to present factual information in a clear manner. They use actual footage along with interviews from multiple perspectives to develop a single narrative. Interviews are shot based on cinematography rules and edited to remove unnecessary questions. Voiceovers, music, and natural sounds are used to anchor meaning while graphics identify interviewees without distracting from the visuals. Editing employs simple cuts and cutaways to maintain pace and provide evidence throughout the documentary.

This document contains examples and explanations of angle pair relationships and angle proofs. It begins with definitions of equal angles if they are both right angles, angles formed by perpendicular lines, and congruent segment angles. Several examples of angle proofs are provided using statements and reasons. Guided practice problems ask to find missing angle measures using angle relationships. The document concludes with an exit slip and homework assignment.
6.7 similarity transformations and coordinate geometrydetwilerr
This document discusses similarity transformations and coordinate geometry. It includes examples of dilating figures by multiplying the coordinates of each point by a scale factor. It explains how to determine if two figures are similar by checking if they have the same scale factor. It provides guided practice problems on finding the coordinates of a dilated figure and explaining why the origin remains fixed under dilation. An exit slip includes drawing dilated figures and determining if figures are similar.
The document discusses several types of documentary films including re-enactments of historical events, direct cinema that purely observes without interfering, a mixture of styles including interviews and archival footage, voiceovers that commentate but the speaker cannot be seen, acknowledging the filmmaker, and longitudinal documentaries that follow a group over time through observation and interviews.
When to NoSQL and When to SQL
NoSQL databases are suited for applications that require rapid development, large data growth, and scale out capabilities. They provide flexible data models like documents and key-value stores. SQL remains effective for query-heavy workloads with complex queries over structured data. A hybrid approach using multiple database types can leverage their respective strengths. The right choice depends on factors like data access patterns, consistency needs, and the skills of those using the system.
