Christine Federighi is a contemporary artist who creates large, nearly life-size clay sculptures using a wire armature and coil method. She carves beautiful scenes and narratives into the surfaces as a relief sculpture. After firing, she seals the pieces and dry brushes oil paint in layers for color, allowing the paint to sufficiently dry before further sealing. The symbols and images carved into the surfaces reference places and experiences in her life that organize into a composition wrapping each figure.
