Choosing Privacy

Editor's Notes

  • #2 Cover who you are (IFC Privacy member, and one of the authors of ALA Article 7) Cover where Kenosha is located
  • #3 Divisions > Cover specific topics & library types. Have paid ALA Staff & Volunteers to help manage them. Usually have Interest Groups to cover specific topics within the division. Will provide programming during conferences, work with members to publish books, and are governed by an elected Board. Round Tables > volunteers that may pay dues to be apart of the group. Are usually more affiliated with regional, state or local groups of the same interest. Offices > Address broad issues within the library community, and do not have members. They are paid ALA staff, and are guided by Council committees IFC: gathers book challenges, cyber threats against libraries, and helps to advise libraries on how to move forward. Council > Elected ALA Members that provide governance to the organization.
  • #10 IMLS Grant to research Library Values & Privacy in our National Digital Strategies. Had multiple brainstorming sessions at ALA Conferences. Their findings were a good first start, but need to be implemented.
