Great American Cookies became an instant retail phenomenon in 1977 when the first store opened in Atlanta, Georgia’s Perimeter Mall. Founded on the strength of a generations-old family chocolate chip cookie recipe, the company eventually set the standard for gourmet cookie sales in shopping centers nationwide.
From one store and one recipe, Great American Cookies expanded in malls across the country and at the same time developed a complete line of cookies and brownies, including our signature Cookie Cake product, making it one of the best cookie companies in the industry. By putting only the finest, fresh-baked goodies in our stores, Great American Cookies has set the stage for success.
Being the biggest cookie company has never been the objective at Great American Cookies. Our goal was simply to bake the best cookies ever made. However, by maintaining pride in service as well as providing the public with a delicious and appealing line of products, Great American Cookies became a leader in the snack food industry.
All of the cookies and brownies at Great American Cookies start with carefully tested recipes, highly controlled production and the finest premium ingredients from our batter facility in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1991, Pretzelmaker has been offering a variety of pretzel products baked fresh, twisted and baked in our stores right in front of the customer's eyes. Our pretzel products offer a great-tasting, low calorie, portable and convenient snack. As the second largest soft pretzel concept in the United States, we have over 330 stores located in 33 states domestically as well as over 50 international stores in Canada and Guam.
Pretzelmaker's commitment to fresh quality products and innovative new menu items, make it a leader in the soft pretzel category. We also offer refreshing lemonade in a variety of flavors and a delicious line of blended drinks.
The soft pretzel industry is growing quickly as customers realize what convenient and low-calorie snacks pretzels are. The pretzel industry naturally capitalizes on the trend sweeping the nation for increased focus on fresh preparation and healthier alternatives. However, it is crucial that pretzel franchises stay hip to certain trends in order to stay relevant in this highly competitive market.
There is nothing quite like a hot freshly-made pretzel with salt. Customers can only eat so many pretzels per day or week, however, so it is important to offer some variety in order to keep customers coming back day after day. Pretzelmaker offers a small but encompassing menu that is sure to delight guests while maintaining the core concepts of convenience and freshness.
Pretzelmaker has built the pretzel business beyond "just the pretzel concept in the mall," into a brand with strong positioning, a product innovation focus and a compelling look and feel.

An introduction to systemic functional linguisticsiendah lestari
The document provides an overview of systemic functional linguistics, which views language as a strategic meaning-making resource that is influenced by social and cultural context. It discusses 21 potential applications of systemic theory and lists four main claims: that language use is functional, its function is to make meanings, these meanings are influenced by context, and language use is a semiotic process of making meanings through choice. The document also describes how context impacts language use through registers, genres, and ideology. Systemic analysis seeks to demonstrate that linguistic texts make multiple meanings simultaneously through experiential, interpersonal, and textual meanings.
Michael Halliday is an internationally renowned linguist who has significantly contributed to theories of language and related areas since the late 1950s. He is best known for developing systemic functional linguistics (SFL), shifting the focus from syntax to a more semiotic approach. SFL analyzes language through three metafunctions - the ideational which conceptualizes the world, the interpersonal which represents the speaker, and the textual which manages discourse flow.

This document provides an introduction to Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG). It discusses the following key points:
1) SFG views language as a system of choices and was developed based on the work of Malinowski, Firth, and Halliday. It examines language from a functional perspective rather than just a structural perspective.
2) SFG represents grammar as system networks that show the paradigmatic choices available and realization rules that map choices to syntactic structures. This models the relationship between semantic choices and surface structures.
3) In SFG, language is analyzed in terms of three metafunctions - the ideational to represent experience, the interpersonal to enact social relationships, and the textual to organize messages
Systemic functional linguistics (SFL) views language as a social semiotic system used to exchange meanings in social contexts. SFL was developed by Michael Halliday to study the relationship between language and its functions in social settings. It treats grammar as a meaning-making resource and considers how language evolves under the pressure of functions it must serve in society. SFL analyzes language through three metafunctions - the ideational to express experience, the interpersonal to enact social relationships, and the textual to create coherent messages.

Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:

Bram Verhoef, Head of Machine Learning at Axelera AI, presents the “How Axelera AI Uses Digital Compute-in-memory to Deliver Fast and Energy-efficient Computer Vision” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
As artificial intelligence inference transitions from cloud environments to edge locations, computer vision applications achieve heightened responsiveness, reliability and privacy. This migration, however, introduces the challenge of operating within the stringent confines of resource constraints typical at the edge, including small form factors, low energy budgets and diminished memory and computational capacities. Axelera AI addresses these challenges through an innovative approach of performing digital computations within memory itself. This technique facilitates the realization of high-performance, energy-efficient and cost-effective computer vision capabilities at the thin and thick edge, extending the frontier of what is achievable with current technologies.
In this presentation, Verhoef unveils his company’s pioneering chip technology and demonstrates its capacity to deliver exceptional frames-per-second performance across a range of standard computer vision networks typical of applications in security, surveillance and the industrial sector. This shows that advanced computer vision can be accessible and efficient, even at the very edge of our technological ecosystem.
