Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Job Announcement
L-Evated Chicago Program Director
L-Evated Chicago
L-Evated Chicago is a bold new initiative to increase and improve the way we plan for, design, develop
and activate the parts of the community surrounding our transit stations. L-Evated Chicago’s founding
partners are The Chicago Community Trust, IFF, Enterprise Community Partners – Chicago, Metropolitan
Planning Council, Center for Neighborhood Technology, Chicago Department of Public Health,
Washington Park Development Group, and Latin United Community Housing Association. L-Evated
Chicago will launch with a 3-year workplan with the intention to sustain the work and build systemic
change.
L-Evated Chicago was competitively selected through the Strong, Prosperous, and Resilient Communities
Challenge (SPARCC), a cohort of national foundations and policy, development and research partners, to
work in close partnership with communities in the Chicago region which similarly believe that transit
stations are 21st
-century catalysts for growth and opportunity. Equity is at the core of L-Evated Chicago’s
agenda, including the process by which we support and partner with communities and where we deploy
L-Evated Chicago resources. In some communities, our work will be about building markets in places
that have historically been excluded. In others, it will be about maintaining inclusion in the face of rapid
change. Equity is far from our only goal, however. L-Evated Chicago will also pursue the related issues of
human health and climate resilience. L-Evated Chicago fervently believes the area around a transit
station is the ideal location to address all three collectively.
Governance
L-Evated Chicago has a tiered governance structure:
Steering Committee: This change-driven body guides, implements, and evaluates L-Evated Chicago’s
strategic approach and detailed work plan administered by the L-Evated Chicago Manager. The Steering
Committee is comprised of up to 18 members at any given time and represents the diversity of Chicago
and the region. It forms topic-specific Working Groups with representation from the Steering Committee
and outside members to execute its responsibilities.
Working Groups: These action-oriented ad hoc groups help to carry out L-Evated Chicago’s Steering
Committee-approved work plan. Working Groups are comprised of government partners, community-
based organizations, individuals, private sector interests, and regional nonprofits.
Advisory Committee: This group of senior leaders from across the city and region provide the Steering
Committee with additional leverage to implement L-Evated Chicago’s strategic plan both locally and
systemically. The Steering Committee keeps the Advisory Committee stay informed and engaged, calling
upon them at key moments when opportunities for policy, process, and culture change arise.
