Mursion at East Carolina University has grown significantly since starting as a pilot program in 2016, but faces challenges in becoming self-sustaining without donor funding. Usage of Mursion has increased by 2-3 times each year, expanding across academic programs at ECU and to external K-12 schools, universities, and businesses. To increase revenue, Mursion@ECU now offers educational pricing and custom scenarios to customers outside of ECU. While growth has been substantial, continued expansion and financial independence will be difficult without securing additional funding sources.
