1. Characters
Ed (Leader) - (Hooded character 1) – This character is a dark and mysterious
person who is set on turning Alex's (Victim) life upside down by phoning him
apparently randomly at a phone box & then stalks him home. Ed becomes visible in
another shot just after Alex closes the door and walks away from it, apparently
starring in through the glass- this could connotation that Alex is now trapped by Ed.
Later on in the film he calls Alex again when Alex is in his bed, and this is the last
action from Ed in the opening o our film. Ed is sizably bigger than Alex, which
connotations his dominance & power over him, and this is why we wanted to cast him
in this role.
Alex (Victim) – Alex is an average looking person with no special features about
him, however he is smaller in stature than Ed, and what this helps connotation is his
vulnerability to Ed. At the start of the film Alex is seen walking down a path, until he
hears a phone, in which he cautiously answers. Upon answering the phone, he hears
lots of mumble sound and can hear breathing; he puts the phone down in frustration
and walks off again. As Alex nears his house (with lamp posts light shining on him
through his journey), he notices the door is open; he enters the house in a confused
manner as to why the house is open. He checks around the house for any signs of a
person’s presence, but finds nothing, and heads upstairs. After going up stairs he gets
a drink of water, but as he is tired he leaves the tap on, with water still running, he
soon after slumps into his bed, where he falls asleep, but is then woken by a phone
call similar to the one he answered earlier in the day, and reacts the same way, and
that is the last we hear from Alex.
Tom (Hooded character 2) – Tom is one of Ed's accomplices, we first see Tom at
the bottom of the stairs, and then once again at the door of Alex’s bed, holding a
tomahawk. What this weapon connotation is is death and violence, and this is the last
visual action we see in the form.
Casting of characters
When it came to the casting it was easy, we decided to keep the casting within our
group to reduce risk and chances of an outsider not turning up or dropping out. The
main character we caste were Alex who is the victim in our film – we caste him
because he is the smallest out of the 4 members and we thought this would show his
vulnerability and innocence well.
The second character we caste was Ed who is the Leader of the Hooded psycho's – we
caste Ed as the leader because he is the biggest out of all 4 of us and this shows the
dominance and power over Alex.
The third character we caste was Tom who is the second hooded character – we cast
him because we needed extra hooded psycho's in our film and he makes up the
dominance and numbers.

2. Director/Cameraman
Although Ben was not a character in our film, he assumed the very important role of
the director and Cameraman, and he is tasked with organising most of the shoots,
filming, as well as helping out in anything we need. We chose Ben to do this and we
thought that he would be the most reliable person to perform this task and he is
effective in using the video camera.
