2. Our draft idea for music video
The main idea for our music video so far is based on the leading male actor whom is put through a challenge
trying to resist the temptation of a variety of women with whom have different themes connected with each
one of them. After he passes the test he is reunited with his main girlfriend concluding the video. We took
inspiration from trey songs music video ‘nana’ where he goes from room to room taking part in physical
exercise with different girls.
What's important to establish with the different girls is the different themes associated with them.
We have the ‘galaxy chick’ which we want the lighting and style to be in tones of purple and blue similar to a
space galaxy. The character will also have glitter makeup to add to this out of world effect.
The next character is the ‘aqua girl’ in which will be filmed in a swimming pool. We want the lighting to be low-
key with studio lights shining onto the pool creating a wave effect on the celling. This character will have more
of a glowing natural makeup look to prevent any make up streaking.
The red lady character will be wearing a seductive outfit rolling around teasingly on a bed. The lighting will be a
neon red and a part of the filming will be edited with an old school camera creating a glitch effect.
Another character will be the female dominatrix, in other terms the powerful female who will be trying to
seduce the male character while he sits on the chair trying to resist the temptation. The setting for this will
purely be a white background with a chair centred in the middle. This will also be edited in a black and white
filter.
The ‘sweet girl’ will be wearing all pink outfit with a fun bubbly persona. She will be filmed in a kitchen which
will personalised pinked. She will be baking and eating cakes. This is important as a section of the lyrics refers
to candy which will be synced.
Finally the last girl will be his main girlfriend. She will be wearing a fur jacket and heavy jewellery to highlight
her importance to him also her make up will be full glam. In the final shot she will be throwing money up with
the main male concluding the video.
3. The main character
This character will be the main feature of our music video. Our idea is that he will be wearing a balaclava to
hide his identity creating this mystery to his character.
What influenced us for using a balaclava in the music video was from the film spring breakers, where the four
girls wore pink balaclavas and it looked effective in creating a gangster feel.
As well the style of a British rap group 67 has influenced the outfit choice of the ‘road man’. The rap crew from
Brixton stylise this heavy chained and masked face persona which we want to incorporate into our male
character.
Balaclavas are associated with gang members relating to crimes such as robbery's and murders. We want our
character to have this thug vibe to him and to achieve this he will be wearing all black which will also help
emphasise the bold colours of the other characters.
