Chapter 4 The Integumentary System Disclaimer: Included in this presentation are pictures you will not find in your book, make note of the information and move on. Working smarter is not working harder. Episode III
Something's you didn’t know Feet have 500,000 sweat glands and can produce more than a pint of sweat a day. With that kind of sweat producing power it’s no wonder that your gym shoes have a stench that can peel paint. Information check… Are you writing this down?
Something's you didn’t know Nails and hair do not continue to grow after we die. They do appear longer when we die, however, as the skin dehydrates and pulls back from the nail beds and scalp.
Something's you didn’t know A simple, moderately severe sunburn damages the blood vessels extensively. How extensively? Studies have shown that it can take four to fifteen months for them to return to their normal condition.
Something's you didn’t know Three hundred million cells die in the human body every minute. Estimates have placed the total number of cells in the body at 10-50 trillion so you can afford to lose a few hundred million without a hitch.
Something's you didn’t know Every day an adult body produces 300 billion new cells. Your body not only needs energy to keep your organs up and running but also to constantly repair and build new cells to form the building blocks of your body itself. Unless your Dead
Something's you didn’t know This is going to be your last PowerPoint on something new for the rest of the Semester. This Presentation was brought to you by the letters. B & S
