Channel AKA is a British urban digital satellite TV channel that focuses on promoting upcoming UK urban, grime, and hip-hop music. It was formerly known as Channel U until 2009 when it was rebranded as Channel AKA after being purchased. The channel plays raw music videos from both unsigned UK talent as well as popular artists from the UK, US, and Caribbean. Due to its focus on underground music styles not found elsewhere, it attracts a youthful audience interested in classic UK sounds.
