    University of Boumerdes.
Experience:
   Referring to an article on (LE FINANCIER news paper),
   unemployment affects mainly young people, especially graduates
    of higher education. The rate of youth unemployment (16-24) has
reached 21.5% in 2010.

    We have been able to run the following surveys in our institution:   Are universities ensuring
     Each year an average of 100 students are graduating, only 33%        the required forming framework
                                                                          To prepare students for
had been able to find work and only 11% are working in the field          professional life?
of their studies.
 The following results are obtained from another survey on 200
     undergraduates:
 95% think that our universities are not ensuring the necessary
     education to prepare them for their a professional life.
 65% would grab any chance to go study abroad.
 07% have been able to go on internships related to the field
of their studies.

 We have also selected the following effects and consequences on youth
    unemployment from these students:
 Increased poverty.
 A decay in the standard of living.
 Illegal immigration (HARAGAS: North African
 migrants who attempt to illegally migrate to
 Europe or to European-controlled islands in
 makeshift boats).
 An increasing rate of social problems.
 Brain drain: an algerian researcher (Ahmed Guessoum) has revealed that
    71,500 graduates have left Algeria between 1994 and 2006 going mainly
    to France, United States, England and Canada) due to the support
    delivered by these countries.
 My own opinion:
“ I consider myself as a target that could be captured by the
unemployment phenomena. The forming framework we are enrolled in is
limited only to the theoretical part, and we are restricted to think only
about the grades instead of trying to be effective in our field of studies,
gain a practical experience and benefit from it.”

    The causes of youth unemployment in Algeria are mainly due to the following reasons:
1)     Lack of industrial forums, manufactories and production due to the total dependency on
      imports.
2)    Absence of a good educational system and a bad forming framework delivered by our
      universities.
3)    Corruption, nepotism and embezzlement.
4)    A very low rate of investments.
5)    Over-population in big cities.
6)    Dependency and reliance on Petroleum which represents more than 80 % of our economy.
7)    Lack of initiatives to develop diversity in investments.
8)    inefficiency in actions taken by the government to fight unemployment.
Solution: Ecological Cyclic Village


o    Our solution consists of building Ecovillages in order to benefit from the
     lands of our country.
It consists of creating an ecological economy where:
 The project will start by exploiting the agricultural Field and use it as
 a source of income.
 Renewable energy (sunlight, wind, rain,) will be used as
a source of energy in the village.
 We will include recycling as a new branch of industry that will ensure
a good way of boosting a large number of job opportunities.
 Our project will also include an educational system which
Will be a second chance to the youth that couldn’t access
Universities, by ensuring an Oriented Educational Program
That will be related to the available employments in
Different fields.
 The educational system will also concern graduated students,
to allow a good orientation of their tasks and to ensure a
sustainable growth of the economy created in this village.
 The village will be welcoming undergraduates to
ensure forming internships in different fields.

 Who will benefit

 project?




    • Thousands of young people will have the opportunity
    to work on that village.
    • They will mainly work on the field of their studies.
    • They will be oriented by professionals to help
    them gain experience.
    • All the necessaries will be included in the village
    to ensure good living conditions.
Target people:



the village will include various domains
 Where job opportunities will be created
 targeting:
 Young graduates from different fields.
 Undergraduates.
 Young people without diplomas.
General Impact:




   The project will be have numerous advantages which are mainly:
   • Fight unemployment.
   • Open new doors on investments.
   • Reduce Overpopulation.
   • promote better use of natural resources through reduction, reuse
      and recovery.
   • Provide a better quality of life based on basic needs.
   • Encourage learning by practicing.
Outcomes and results:


   Agriculture: Ensure hundreds of job opportunities in the field.
•   Recycling: Creating this branch of industry will be a good source of income
    and a way of creating a large number of job opportunities.( It had been
    mentioned by the Institute For Local Self-Reliance In North Carolina that
    recycling industries employ over 8,700 people),
•   Renewable energy: We will be able to create job opportunities for engineers
    in the field to ensure the maintenance of these resources.
•   Reduce the rate of overpopulation in big cities.
•   An environnemental friendly village.

 Cooperations:
       We will cooperate with universities, government, and manage
collaborations with interested investors to sustain the growth of this village.

[Challenge:Future] Ecological Cyclic Village

  • 1. Project Name:  Team Name:WideBeam  Country: ALGERIA,  School: Institute of Elecrical & Electronic Engineering, University of Boumerdes.
  • 2. Experience:  Referring to an article on (LE FINANCIER news paper), unemployment affects mainly young people, especially graduates of higher education. The rate of youth unemployment (16-24) has reached 21.5% in 2010.  We have been able to run the following surveys in our institution: Are universities ensuring Each year an average of 100 students are graduating, only 33% the required forming framework To prepare students for had been able to find work and only 11% are working in the field professional life? of their studies.  The following results are obtained from another survey on 200 undergraduates:  95% think that our universities are not ensuring the necessary education to prepare them for their a professional life.  65% would grab any chance to go study abroad.  07% have been able to go on internships related to the field of their studies. Finding internships related to the field of their Studies,
  • 3.  We have also selected the following effects and consequences on youth unemployment from these students:  Increased poverty.  A decay in the standard of living.  Illegal immigration (HARAGAS: North African migrants who attempt to illegally migrate to Europe or to European-controlled islands in makeshift boats).  An increasing rate of social problems.  Brain drain: an algerian researcher (Ahmed Guessoum) has revealed that 71,500 graduates have left Algeria between 1994 and 2006 going mainly to France, United States, England and Canada) due to the support delivered by these countries.  My own opinion: “ I consider myself as a target that could be captured by the unemployment phenomena. The forming framework we are enrolled in is limited only to the theoretical part, and we are restricted to think only about the grades instead of trying to be effective in our field of studies, gain a practical experience and benefit from it.”
  • 4. Dicovering: Graduation Cycle:  The causes of youth unemployment in Algeria are mainly due to the following reasons: 1) Lack of industrial forums, manufactories and production due to the total dependency on imports. 2) Absence of a good educational system and a bad forming framework delivered by our universities. 3) Corruption, nepotism and embezzlement. 4) A very low rate of investments. 5) Over-population in big cities. 6) Dependency and reliance on Petroleum which represents more than 80 % of our economy. 7) Lack of initiatives to develop diversity in investments. 8) inefficiency in actions taken by the government to fight unemployment.
  • 5. Solution: Ecological Cyclic Village o Our solution consists of building Ecovillages in order to benefit from the lands of our country. It consists of creating an ecological economy where:  The project will start by exploiting the agricultural Field and use it as a source of income.  Renewable energy (sunlight, wind, rain,) will be used as a source of energy in the village.  We will include recycling as a new branch of industry that will ensure a good way of boosting a large number of job opportunities.
  • 6.  Our project will also include an educational system which Will be a second chance to the youth that couldn’t access Universities, by ensuring an Oriented Educational Program That will be related to the available employments in Different fields.  The educational system will also concern graduated students, to allow a good orientation of their tasks and to ensure a sustainable growth of the economy created in this village.  The village will be welcoming undergraduates to ensure forming internships in different fields.
  • 7. Impact Plan: Unemployed Ungraduated Young people Government Society Graduated Students with no diploma students Who will benefit from this project? • Thousands of young people will have the opportunity to work on that village. • They will mainly work on the field of their studies. • They will be oriented by professionals to help them gain experience. • All the necessaries will be included in the village to ensure good living conditions.
  • 8. Target people: the village will include various domains Where job opportunities will be created targeting:  Young graduates from different fields.  Undergraduates.  Young people without diplomas.
  • 9. General Impact: The project will be have numerous advantages which are mainly: • Fight unemployment. • Open new doors on investments. • Reduce Overpopulation. • promote better use of natural resources through reduction, reuse and recovery. • Provide a better quality of life based on basic needs. • Encourage learning by practicing.
  • 10. Outcomes and results:  Agriculture: Ensure hundreds of job opportunities in the field. • Recycling: Creating this branch of industry will be a good source of income and a way of creating a large number of job opportunities.( It had been mentioned by the Institute For Local Self-Reliance In North Carolina that recycling industries employ over 8,700 people), • Renewable energy: We will be able to create job opportunities for engineers in the field to ensure the maintenance of these resources. • Reduce the rate of overpopulation in big cities. • An environnemental friendly village.  Cooperations: We will cooperate with universities, government, and manage collaborations with interested investors to sustain the growth of this village.
