- Astrid- The Digital Revolution is a process that involves, social, political, and economic changes, caused by the digital technology as computers and internet. Susana- But what does the technology implies? It is based mainly in digital electronics. Gerardo- But what is so significant? Well, the digitalization is so important because the books, movies, songs, and other things can be open in a single device.

Susana- But what does the technology implies? It is based mainly in digital electronics. Gerardo- But what is so significant? Well, the digitalization is so important because the books, movies, songs, and other things can be open in a single device. Astrid- The Digital Revolution involves 4 phases , divided as Data Processing, Personal Computing, Network Computing, Cloud computing. Susana- the digital revolution begins in the 1980’s , but the first digital computer was build in the world war ll, and in the 1950’s computers were build for business applications.
- Gera- In this phase, the computers were big, complex , and expensives devices, they were very limited only the big corporations and the government could afford it, and they were managed only by specialists. Astid- Also they were accesed by a terminal keyboard and display screen, at the 1960’s the DR, begin to transform organizations, while the normal people has a very limited contact with computers.Susana- But what is Data processing? Is based in an input and output cycle, the data goes in a computer were is processed then it is output.
- Astrid: then comes the personal computing, that was composed by small and standalone computers, that were powered by a local software. A local software is a software installed in computer hard drive. Susana: Also in this phase, the computers don’t need to be connect to a network, that allow the users to interact with installed software. Gera: To resume this phase was constituted by small and standalone machines, that look like an old tv.
- Astrid: at the 1970s the digital devices were available for the public, in 1976 the fist personal computer appear, and in 1982 they were accepted by the public in general. Susana: A computer network is a group of computers that share data and are linked together. This phase starts in 1990s .In it the computers were networked and and the internet become a tool for public use. Gera: The networks become friendly with consumers, it allows the consumers to share files and mainly to share an internet connection. Astrid: the internet is a global computer network, that was a main facor to increment the computer ownership. Susana : The web is collection of linked documents and graphics that can be accesed through the internet.
- Gera: through 1995 to 2010 the computing was characterized by the use of web, email, music softwares and many software applications such as Microsoft office. Astrid: Cloud computing , in this phase the social networks play a major role, it consists of the access to information, applications and storage with the use of internet.
- Susana: The expansion of this phase was main support by the convergence, it is a process in which many technologies envolve to form a single product. Such as your phone camera, the store of data in your iPod. Gera : It work like magic in your devices! Its so important because helps the creation of sophisticated mobile devices.Susana: Facebook, Twitter and mySpace become the first popular social networks, with over 750 million of users. Astrid: Also an other main factor is the social media, that consist of cloud based applications designed for the social interaction and for the generate of content. The wikis, blogging services and photosharing are included.
- Susana : the digital revolution is divided in Intellectual Property , freedom and democracy, Economy, Privacy
- Gera: But also this technologies, coul be use as a tool for freedom speech, things you feel worry to said you can express it using tools for anonymize. Thse use of this tools also in a reason to worry because of the privacy loss.
- Astrid: It is easy to collect and distribute private data, without the knowledge of the owner, It also a topic to worry the unauthorized use of intellectual property, such as patented, trademarked and copyrighted material.
- Susana: this action is known as pirating, an illegal copying and distribution of copyrighted material, this is simple and very cheap. Causing losses to software publishers, studios and producers. This has cause the implementation of piracy laws, encryptation and many other ways.
- Gera: Also the digital technology has been a main factor that helps to the globalization, giving acess to a large list of technology products all over the world.
