This is a first attempt to outline ways of growing the 
brand and impact of Conservation Global (CG) as a 
leading non‐profit. CG has already done such great 
work so this proposal is aimed to keep that going and 
growing!

Executive Summary 
 
The following development plan outlines the road map for continuously improving CGs services and 
products.  This road map can be further defined to assess goals and levels of organizational maturity.  
The fundamental design approach is to use industry best practices continuous improvement model.  The 
overall goal is improving the marketability of Conservation Global (CG) and the vision of this proposal 
looks to all ends of the business to support that goal. The big picture is that while not everyone in CG 
works in the sales department, everyone is a salesman. This proposals’ end goal is to develop a living 
document that reflects the values and culture of CG. Then to take that document and use it as a baseline 
to implement new marketing plans, fundraising plans, alumni organizations and teaching programs. This 
first draft hopes to inspire current members of CG to provide input to further develop its ideas with the

Marketing  
  Company assessment  
CG is a new and growing organization with a lot of potential to change the world. Education is the key to 
solving major world problems, so even more exposure to these issues and solutions to people of all 
backgrounds is needed. We are increasingly becoming a global society and as such we need to look 
globally for ways to improve life and business. CG gives people from many different backgrounds the 
chance to see sustainable development and good business practices. It connects people from different 
parts of the world and makes them consider the human and environmental cost of their actions.  CG 
develops many things but its biggest impact is building a global mindset.  
 
  Goal setting  
    Building the brand 
Before moving to an online solution building the brand internally is important to make sure all staff are 
on the same page and selling the same massage. Other organizations have something like an Idealism 
hand book or volunteer guide. At CG we want to develop a global responsibility hand book. This would 
act as a training manual on how members of CG should see the world, it should inspire them on ways 
they can add value to the world and give them insight while offering perspective on how to deal with 
difficult tasks. This will be a living document so as the organization grows and learns the hand book will 
be updated. This book will embody all the values of the organization, drive cultural changes and define 
how work is accomplished at CG. 
Online ability  
Online CG will work to develop a wide and predominate position capturing all available ends of the 
market. As this organization targets schools CG should look first to serving students; not only should it 
attract them but it should look good on a resume to future employers. While students will not see the 
full value of what this organization does till they live it, the additional draw must come from a perceived 
return on investment. If the only target is people who already are interested in this then the impact is 
not as great as is could be. Through online marketing we will work to change the people who don’t know 
they need to be changed.

  Implementation Plan  
Web site 
The goal is to redesign the website to include this new marketing approach described in the “Online 
ability” above.  We will add links to additional social media sites and enhance the top of the page by 
including a running tally of donations, lives impacted, and daily successful missions. In the US about 80% 
of all charitable donations come from individuals, so we want to give them an easy way to make a 
donation on the web page. We will also allow people to join an email list to receive information about 
events, world issue CG is working on, announcing when goals are reached, and general news of the 
world that is related to CG work. This is an example of things that should also be posted to social media 
accounts. Sending out news this way might be more effective in some cases, but all avenues should be 
hit.

      Apps 
Developing an App concept for CG has an unlimited range of possibilities. Increasingly people use smart 
phones to access the internet, they spend more time on their phone then on a computer. Developing a 
app that is fun an interactive can be used many ways. First when students join they can be asked to 
download the app to help them with in their time there. this app will test them on their knowledge of 
the aria show them places they have been, show them places others have been. It will be useful while 
they are there, but it must have value after they leave. This might be a place they can access a copy on 
the “Global Mindset Book” and keep up to date on the values they learned. They can see other school 
trips and continue to play games on it.  The first step will be to define functional requirements for this 
new application.  
      New partners/certifications – Net Impact, UN Global compact 
Partnering with organizations like Net Impact gives you access to a network of students looking for 
internships and looking for way to improve the world. Net Impact is a networking organization that 
connects likeminded people and organization with similar goals to CG. It would also allow CG to help 
student find organizations to work for that promote the lessons learned at CG. Gaining additional 
certification allows CG a similar networking ability. These certifications can be displayed on the page as a 
credit to CG accomplishments and add to the trustworthiness of CG. I would also recommend a 
feasibility study regarding GC developing their own certification program.  This program could offer 
short and longer‐term educational components with CS developed certification testing. 
  Customer segment  
CG customers are students at the moment but it is also their product. The ability to market this product 
and resell it allows CG to gain more customers as students and build new customers like employers. As 
discussed above looking into new partners and certification should expand the customer segment.

  Value proposition  
CG offers students the chance to engage the world on a larger scale and moves the lesson out of the 
class room and into the real world. CG builds on the social capital of its members and improves the 
social capital of the world.  
Deliverable Summary  
The deliverables for this project are the two handbooks, CG Handbook and Fundraising handbook. The 
proposed plan takes a 30‐week time line to build these documents while further developing the 
organization. The books should then grow and influence in rhythm with the organization. The internship 
being only 8‐weeks of this time the first 8 weeks is dedicated to developing a first draft on what CG 
current vision, values and goals are. The deliverable will be a first attempted at documenting company 
culture in a way that is comprehensive and easy to convey.

First Draft Manuscript Deliverables   
As stated, the 8‐week internship will be focused developing a first draft of a document the will 
demonstrate and develop the culture and ideals of CG. This will be a collaboration and I will act in a 
consulting capacity leaving final say and approval of all content to CG. As of now the first draft should 
include, but not limited to, sections outlining, organizational vision, history/founding stories, 
inspirational people and quotes/concepts, testimonials and how to apply CG ideals to life. The first 
deliverable to be considered is a title for this document and should be agreed on by the first draft. The 
first draft will exist only in electronic form. Sourcing printing for the first draft should be considered with 
the delivery of the draft. The Logo will be show cased on the cover and explained in detail its meaning.

Set goals  
Setting fund raising and financial goal is important and should be set as the yearly fundraising events are 
planned out. Additionally, having longer term goals will allow your people to sell the future of the 
organization. Take time to answer the following question.

o Why are they giving 
 Why do we fundraise? 
 Is it multi‐channel fundraising?

Using information from these question will create an outline for how this should be approached.

Project management  
CG projects focus on sustainable development and in order to sustain the sustainable development 
projects CG must demonstrate how the environment, economic and social parts all come together to 
support their various projects.

  Eden Honeybee Project 
This is a really interesting project to me. Honeybees are a growing concern and recently I meet 2 guys 
with a startup called BeeHelpful and they had been doing some amazing work with new Tec beehives. 
They are located in Switzerland and could be a very interesting partnership for CG.  
   
 
 
Food Security 
I love this project. Increasingly farming issues are on the rise but it seems there is the money and 
opportunity here to build a farming culture around ideas of bio diversity, no GMO and the passing of 
knowledge or education outside of traditional learning institution. There are so many possibilities I 
would really like to look further into it before fully formulating any suggestions.  
 
Global Strategic Management 
Risk is a part of any business plan, successful businesses work to anticipate risks or problems and have 
action plans and mitigation strategies. Below is an example of how to look at risk with in CG.

Personal Goals 
At the beginning of the year I set goals in my leadership class for my future job. I wanted to work 
internationally with the end goal of working with a non‐profit. As this year has developed I have refined 
that goal to develop my skills to make business more profitable while integrating sustainable systems 
and environmentally friendly practice’s. This internship will help me reach this goal by giving me the 
opportunity to work with the company structure, risk management and marketing. At the end of this 
internship I would have used my position to develop international business contacts and gain a deeper 
understanding on sustainable business practices. I was to help build something for this organization that 
I can be proud of, is a credit to my management skills and is something that they need. My goal is to call 
on all my education to add to making a business more profitable while doing more good. This work 
should reflect business processes that are easily transferable to other profit or non‐profit organizations.
