The organization was founded in 2011 by Bruce Lisman, Tom Pelham, and Mary Alice McKenzie. It now has 1,700 partners, 16,000 Facebook followers, 5,000 newsletter subscribers, and 118 donors. The organization advocates for a vibrant economy, sustainable budgeting, ethical government, and a world-class education system through forums, policy recommendations, and government oversight. Recent successes include establishing an ethics panel, employment disclosures, and education reform. They are currently addressing Vermont's budget gap through policy reforms.
