Blood cells include red blood cells which are round and lack a nucleus but can change shape to move through small blood vessels. Muscle cells comprise skeletal muscle cells which have striations and are linear in shape, cardiac muscle cells which are branched and striated, and smooth muscle cells that lack striations and are linear. Nerve cells send and receive electrical signals while epithelial cells line and protect surfaces. Bone cells form rings to withstand pressure and create bone, and egg and sperm cells are specialized reproductive cells where sperm have tails for movement and eggs contain resources for fetal growth.
