Orthodox Serbian families celebrate Krsna Slava, honoring their patron saint who has been passed down through generations. Each family celebrates on the baptismal day of their ancestors, with traditions including an icon of the saint, wheat, bread, wine, and a priest's blessing. St. Nicholas is such a common patron saint that around his day in December, it is said that half of Serbia is celebrating their Slava and the other half is visiting others' Slavas.
