THE FUTURE OF THE PROJECT ?
Editor's Notes
In October 2012 Thomas Binderup, Kurt Thybo and Betina Folke had the idea of disseminating the project they had been developing for some years about creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship and organized a Study Visit to show it to educators from diferent countries.
One of the most interesting parts of the programme was the ability to listen to the very different viewpoints from the different countries. As hosts we were it allowed to see our work from a different perspective as the participants asked a set of questions that we would not necessarily ask themselves.
After the visit I discover how this country was very focus in creativity and innovation. Later I knew that it was the secret of the so called viking economy. I felt seduced by the project but even more when I saw how all the community was focus in that project: municipality, schools, teacher training institution, trade and bussiness organizations, unions and so on. You can see that even the Royal Family is involved in the task.
When I came back from Denmark the idea of doing something similar in my area set in my mind. I spoke to my coleagues and with my boss in Delegacion de Educación and they thought it was a great idea, then I wrote to Kurt and Thomas and proposed to them the involvement in an European project. They inmediately said YES.
For us in Herning, CECI was a way to continue the Partnership for the future – program.
Sotes request to apply for a Comenius Regio was just what we needed.
A motivated and skilled partner, who was thirsty for a project that could help develop our own praxises.
Jerez was just the right partner: Nice people, experienced project manager and decent wheather.
In January 16th 2013 Thomas and Kurt came to Jerez. We had two intensive working days writing the project. We did not have time to do something else . We only had time for a short walk around Jerez. The weather was horrible, we were tired but we got IT!!
In July the Danish National Agency accepted our project and some days later the Spanish did the same.
We started the training in Spain before going to Herning. We had a chalenge as we did not know much about the methodology. We created groups of work and learnt about 3D cases, the phases, who was Edward de Bono. And we knew all this watching Christian Byrge and his team videos. We learnt how to use Lego with an expert from Barcelona. We learnt from each other having practical sessions, learning by doing! You Danish, you contagious us!! We started our own “learning path”.
In October the steering group met in Herning, the first steps in the project. Our first meeting with Reestudy and we had our first products: CECI logo. It was the first time we spoke about the documentary.
And then the first big meeting in Herning. It was a really good start. Being with Jette Jul, the training sessions with Rune, the visit to different schools, we had the opportunity of seeing a big company and even how the democracy system is organized in Denmark, we could enjoy the nice meals and so on.
In March we went to Jerez to have a steering group meeting. Only three days but they were intensive. We organize the visit in May, visit schools, and we also have sotry to
CECI seems very important for the Spanish partners. Teachers have immersed themselves in the creative platform and Lego, they have held training courses for their colleagues and have met and sparring with each other.
The leaders have followed the process very closely, they network with each other and have in many ways made the world around them aware of the project.
First meeting in May 2014 in Jerez. Five very hot days. Here we can see some of the big moments of the week. 3D cases, Lego, dialoogle and learning path, with Rune, job shadowing, headteachers contact with the help of Tanya, a long day in School of art with pechakuchas and we try to be artist for one hour.
Our visits have been fantastic, we have enjoyed beautiful moments with our guests.
Second big meeting in Herning: nice welcome, Belinda, more training, lego visit, beautiful time together and how to forget the nice hotel. Sorry as you have to drive a lot to pick us up. So many things that we do not have space for more things, but how to forget Copenhagen….
Spanish Delegación representatives visit Herning in March. We visited schools, VIA, museums, library. It was an experience for all of them. We felt like at home, especially having tapas in a restaurant in Herning!
Culture has been a big thing in this project. We see different pictures about it: Eila, Danish food (always with bread!! Under the food!) and nice beer, Herning and other areas around, the importance of libraries in Denmark, cozy houses and, of course, Copenhagen!!
We tried to offer you the best of our area: the old town, flamenco, our more famous bussines: sherry and Tio Pepe, and of course our more international book , el Quijote. Sorry for the weight but it was worthy.
Products or evidencies of our work. Obviously the main product is the experience we have had as educators and what we have been able to transmit to our students and colleagues but it is also important to be concious of our well done work. . It has been a beautiful, succesful, professional experience that has given the opportunity of knowing fantastic people and a wonderful country that will be unforgotable for all of us.
Soon the project will be over.
We have done a lot and have accomplished a lot.
Sometimes it was a lot of hard work. Somethings have been difficult but in the end it was all worth our effort.
It has been a beautiful, succesful, professional experience that has given the opportunity of knowing fantastic people and a wonderful country that will be unforgotable for all of us.
This is the last thing we have discovered about the development of creativity. We need a new project to test it and disseminate the new knowledge. And I wonder: Is this the fututure of creativity?
