I like this album cover because its quite
dark and sexy and I can imagine creating
something like this. I am also a big ban of
black and white. It works quite well
although it is really hard to see the title
of the album in the bottom right hand
corner. It is a pop music cover hence the
reason if features a picture of the artists
on the front. I feel that this would also
appeal to both sexes as it is so seductive,
the attractiveness would appeal to the
men and the women would aspire to be
like that image.
M I A - kala
This cover is extremely busy reflecting
the type of music well. It does feature an
image of the artist but not in the typical
form as it is actually a drawing of her.
The colours really clash within the cover
as well which although maybe a little too
much it does make the cover stand out
really well. There is also a foreign
element to the cover which again, helps
to reflect the type of music. I feel this
would mainly appeal to women because
the way the female artist looks so
dominant.

2. Kanye West – My Dark
and Twisted fantasy
The image on the cover suggests that
the music could push a few boundaries
as it shows an abstract, almost demonic,
interracial sex scene. This reflects that
the music its self could be of an explicit
nature. This is also backed up by the
parental advisory mark in the bottom
right corner. I think this is a very clever
design as it also quite mysterious with
no writing which adds to its
controversial nature, reflecting strongly
on the artist’s personality traits.
Eminem – Relapse
This cover shows the artists face but it is
actually made up of drugs suggesting
that the album itself is heavily drug
related. I am not too keen on the way
the name of the album is displayed. I
understand that is meant to look like a
label off a pill bottle but I just don’t think
it really suits the cover. The drug relation
and the way the artist is presented on
the front suggests that the music could
be quite personal to the artist and the
fact explicit content icon is on the cover
again conveys that it is not going to be a
very positive album at all.
