Debt Recovery
CBC International is well versed and highly
experienced in the field of commercial debt recovery.
Where your debtors refuse to pay, we will suggest legal
action if we feel that this is the most appropriate way
forward, after taking the financial position of the debtor
into account. We will not issue legal proceedings without
your prior approval and only after advising you of the
possible costs. In successful actions, the debtor will have
to pay most of the legal fees, together with statutory
or contractual interest. Throughout our debt collection
activity, we will keep you fully apprised of progress at
regular intervals on a ‘case-by-case’ basis.

Dispute Resolution Service
Is your customer disputing payment of an account
and you don’t wish to be involved in protracted and

As an alternative to Court action we are able to act as
an intermediary between the parties in an effort to
bring about a satisfactory resolution to the dispute,
thereby ensuring a speedy and less costly outcome.
We will charge a flat rate to be agreed prior to the
resolution meeting, we will also make all arrangements
for venue/time of the meeting and prepare the required
document pack for discussion at the meeting.

Debt Claim Legal Services
Where Legal Action is Required
It is tempting to resort to legal action - in what is
often referred to as the ‘small caims court’. But
what are the chances of success and will it be worth
the cost and hassle? - Debt Claim Legal Services can
assess this for you and advise on the merits of tak-
ing legal action so that you can make an informed
judgement.
There is no such thing as a Small Claims Court: the
County Courts use a ‘small claims track’ to handle claims
for less than £5,000.00. It is designed to be quick,
inexpensive and unintimidating for the layperson.
Larger amounts are usually handled by a slower, more
expensive and complicated system, where a solicitor is
usually required (charges could be as much as £195.00
per hour) however, we have overcome this problem and
can issue for any amount through Debt Claim, saving
substantial fees.
You can claim at County Court for money owed to you by
your customer in respect of goods supplied or services
rendered but Court action should always be a last resort.
You must give the debtor a clear opportunity to pay up
before you issue a claim. Debt Claim Legal Services can
do this for you generating a letter before action (LBA)
saying how much they owe, what it is for, efforts you
have already made and a warning that we will make a
Court Claim once a reasonable deadline expires (such as
14 days).
The fee to start a claim is roughly 10% of the amount
claimed, which may be added to what you are owed,
we can issue your claim through our online system
saving both time and money. The defendant has 14 days
to respond after service the claim, and the ideal
outcome is that the defendant does not contest the
case, and pays up without you even needing to go to
Court.
If the defendant disputes your claim, a hearing is
necessary and the Court will allocated a date – so
consider whether you are prepared to attend a
possible trial. The two parties present their case to a
judge in relatively informal surroundings. The defendant
is usually asked to pay such costs if you win, but not any
solicitor’s fees you incur if you decide to employ one for
the hearing if the debt is below £5,000.00.

  • 2. CBC INTERNATIONAL Commercial Credit Management & Consultancy Debt Recovery CBC International is well versed and highly experienced in the field of commercial debt recovery. Where your debtors refuse to pay, we will suggest legal action if we feel that this is the most appropriate way forward, after taking the financial position of the debtor into account. We will not issue legal proceedings without your prior approval and only after advising you of the possible costs. In successful actions, the debtor will have to pay most of the legal fees, together with statutory or contractual interest. Throughout our debt collection activity, we will keep you fully apprised of progress at regular intervals on a ‘case-by-case’ basis. UK Commercial Debt Recovery Package from CBC International We conduct our service on a no collection, no fee basis (excluding disbursements). We charge a rate of commission only on the money successfully recovered and offer a sliding commission scale, subject to debt value. Commercial Accounts up to 12 Months Overdue: UK Based Client & Debtor Value of Debt Standard Commission Payable £0 - £ 5,000 15% £5,001 - £10,000 12.5% £10,001 - £15,000 10% £15,001 - £20,000 7.5% £20,000+ 5.0% Special rates are negotiable for regular and/or high volume instructions. But what are the chances of success and will it be worth the cost and hassle? - Debt Claim Legal Services can assess this for you and advise on the merits of tak- ing legal action so that you can make an informed judgement. There is no such thing as a Small Claims Court: the County Courts use a ‘small claims track’ to handle claims for less than £5,000.00. It is designed to be quick, inexpensive and unintimidating for the layperson. Larger amounts are usually handled by a slower, more expensive and complicated system, where a solicitor is usually required (charges could be as much as £195.00 per hour) however, we have overcome this problem and can issue for any amount through Debt Claim, saving substantial fees. You can claim at County Court for money owed to you by your customer in respect of goods supplied or services rendered but Court action should always be a last resort. You must give the debtor a clear opportunity to pay up before you issue a claim. Debt Claim Legal Services can do this for you generating a letter before action (LBA) saying how much they owe, what it is for, efforts you have already made and a warning that we will make a Court Claim once a reasonable deadline expires (such as 14 days). The fee to start a claim is roughly 10% of the amount claimed, which may be added to what you are owed, we can issue your claim through our online system saving both time and money. The defendant has 14 days to respond after service the claim, and the ideal outcome is that the defendant does not contest the case, and pays up without you even needing to go to Court. If the defendant disputes your claim, a hearing is necessary and the Court will allocated a date – so consider whether you are prepared to attend a possible trial. The two parties present their case to a judge in relatively informal surroundings.
