I welcomed the opportunity to provide this letter of recommendation on behalf of Sarah
Phelps.
I work for the Crested Butte ski area and my responsibilities include public relations,
Communications, Marketing, Advertising, corporate Sponsorship & Partnerships, Special
Events including our nationally televised U.S. Extreme Boarderfest and U.S. Extreme
‘Freeskiing’ Championships and International Programs.
Sarah worked directly with my all last winter, beginning in early December until she moved
to Canada this past summer.
I have been in my position with the ski company for 16 years and have worked with many
different assistants during my tenure. Sarah was definitely the quickest learner and the most
efficient.
Her responsibilities were critical to the success of our events. The food and beverage
functions, meeting room space, registration, transportation, VIP logistics, and coordination,
etc. Are the most important components in executing a well run event and ensuring that the
clients, sponsors and guests are satisfied. Sarah also helped me host our Media and VIP’s
visiting the resort both on the mountain and in the evening. She also assisted me in the
collateral production and press release distribution. She was willing to help out whenever
needed even if it was cleaning up after the events or stuffing envelopes!
Sarah was extremely well organized, efficient, and knowledgeable about all aspects of here
responsibilities. She was creative in solving problems and in accepting and working through
any type of challenging predicaments that came up, which are endless with our vast
responsibilities.
Sarah had to interact with many different internal departments during her day-to-day
responsibilities. Her positive attitude and sincere desire to help her fellow associates get the
job done was an integral part of the success we had last year in our department.
I witnessed Sarah grow considerably in her confidence and leadership skills over the year.
Her time in Crested Butte gave her diverse experience in many aspects of business
management.

2. I believe that Sarah is an excellent candidate for your job opening. She is intelligent,
professional and focused, in addition to having a friendly easygoing personality. I am sure
these attributes will translate into her commitment to work for your company.
You will be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic, sincere or hospitable person to hire.
She is mature for her age and an absolute delight to work with. I know she will only grow
and improve her many skills and knowledge with this new opportunity. I personally hope
that she will be able to return to Crested Butte and work with us again someday. We all miss
here very much.
