ENVIRONMENT: FOR THE
PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE
AND BY THE PEOPLE
02.23.2024
Understand empathy of every “juan”
for the environment.
1.
grasp the significance of empathy
towards environmental conservation
and restoration.
2.
Actively engaged in school and
community-based activities
cognizant to environment
conservation and restoration.
3.
OBJECTIVES:
●Empathy is the ability to comprehend and
share the feelings of others, forming a crucial
aspect of human connection.
●Fostering positive relationships and social
interactions requires the ability to recognize and
respond to a range of emotions and situations
with empathy.
KEY CONCEPTS:
●Empathy helps people understand and connect
with one another, regardless of their diversities,
which is important in the development of solid,
enduring relationships.
●Active participation in school and community-
based activities is essential for learners to
internalize and apply empathy as a critical social
skill in their daily lives.
KEY CONCEPTS:
WATCH A VIDEO
Divide the class into 4 or 5 groups. Each
group will create an empathy map based
on the video presented. The members will
write something on the 4 quadrant. Each
group will be given 3 minutes to present
their empathy map.
ACTIVITY 1 AND PROCEDURES
Guide Questions:
What can you SAY about the man in the video?
What was he THINKING about the
people/situations around him?
How do you FEEL about watching the video?
What will you DO to help the people around you
and show empathy?
ACTIVITY 1 AND PROCEDURES
TRAVERSING EMPATHY FOR
EVERY “JUAN”
ACTIVITY 2
UNDERNEATH WE’RE ALL THESAME
-Amy Maddox
“He prayed-it wasn’t my religion. He
ate-it wasn’t what I ate. He spoke-it
wasn’t my language. He dressed-it
wasn’t what I wore. He took my
hand-it wasn’t the color of mine. But
when he laughed-it was how I
laughed, and when he cried-it was
how I cried.”
Explain the task:
Creatively express thoughts on empathy based on
the presented passage.
Allow time to write,
draw, or record thoughts.
Sharing Option: Offer
learners the chance to share reflections.
Empathy has an important role to play in your life. First, it
can strengthen your bonds with the people you interact
with. As you try to understand others, you also make
them feel heard and understood. They’re then more likely
to take the time to empathize with you as well. This
deepens your relationship and promotes that feeling of
connection that all of us desire.
