 WordsMaya in collaboration with Department of Electronic
Science, Savitribai Phule Pune University conducted English
Communication Course for 30 students of 1st Year Masters
program.
 A total of 40 hours of learning was held in the entire course
including the online lessons and workshops.
 60% of the students are more confident than before.
 Almost 70% students have improved by one grade at the end
of the course.
 Students learnt different techniques to express them in
English, increase confidence, improve vocabulary, better
report writing skills and presentation skills.

Induction program held for the Training and Placement Cell for K. K. Wagh Institute of
Engineering Education and Research, Nashik.
 WordsMaya in collaboration with K. K. Wagh Institute of
Engineering Education and Research, Nashik conducted “Faculty
Development Program” for 35 faculty members.
 Total 50 hours of learning in the entire course including the
online lessons and workshops will be held.
 Faculty will learn different techniques to express themselves in
English, increase confidence, better presentation skills and soft
skills.

5. IKSC Knowledge Bridge:

Background of IKSC –
In pursuit of design excellence and effectiveness and as a tribute to Indian Engineering, IKSC Knowledge Bridge was
set up in May2010 and is Non-profit making organization with mission "India 2020", to help India evolve as
engineering power house. Information, Knowledge, Skills and Career (IKSC) form the pillars of Knowledge Bridge.
Along with traditional and practical experiences, IKSC makes students formidable to face vibrant industrial scenarios.
IKSC has a vision to complement engineering education through infusion of Industry knowledge in Product Design;
and to help students build skills and competencies required by the manufacturing industry. Mission of IKSC is to
harvest information and create knowledge for developing skills to provide direction in career for the young engineer.
Challenges
Although the students at IKSC had gone through 17 years of education, they still carried the void in basic
communication skills. The students struggled with presentations and interviews. They often struggled with making
sentences to express or to impress. This was the major challenge for IKSC as the performance of students was
hampering the number of placements.
Solutions provided by WordsMaya
IKSC realized that it needed a standard course for spoken English and soft skills development. That’s when it joined
hands with WordsMaya.
Initially WordsMaya conducted an assessment test of the students. The students received a detailed report of their
test and received an English proficiency level. Based on that level the students were assigned personalized courses.
WordsMaya’s unique solution of learning on chat enabled the students to complete the lessons of the course at their
pace. The course curriculum was spread over two months to have minimum impact on the academic calendar. Every
week student had to undergo online learning sessions. During learning sessions, student attempted various
assessment quizzes. At end of learning for the week, student attended workshops led by WordsMaya mentor at IKSC.
Simultaneously we had continuous evaluation of the student to have close tracking of student’s progress.
The course curriculum improved students’ conversational and communicational skills. . The course helped students to
use correct English without mistakes like grammatical misuses, incorrect words, punctuation mistakes etc. It also
improved their speaking, writing abilities. It upgraded the student’s English proficiency level which made them
confident in expressing themselves in presentations, debates, talking to customers or superiors etc. The voice
modulations lessons helped students speak effectively and fluently.
WordsMaya has taught 200 students at IKSC in the duration of 18 months of training. The students improved
drastically in English communication and now every student at IKSC is able to speak confidently and can communicate
with everyone in English.
