The document discusses what it means to be carnally minded according to scripture. It says that being carnally minded relates to physical desires of the body rather than being led by the spirit, and that a carnal mind is opposed to God. It provides biblical examples like Adam and Eve succumbing to temptation, David committing adultery with Bathsheba, and how following carnal desires leads to curses. However, through Jesus' sacrifice our sins can be forgiven if we come to God with repentance. The discussion encourages growing spiritually by feeding on God's word rather than carnal desires, and that with God's help we can overcome any temptation.

Re-routing to joy path #8 is through suffering. It strikes every one of us, somehow, some way. Yet, our redemptive God uses even the very worst that happens to us to bring us, eventually, to a kind of joy that nothing else will produce! Though it is painful, it brings us back to God in a way that nothing else can.

Suffering has always been a very difficult topic to discuss, because if you mention the word of Bible, others will think that you have no empathy. As if you meet a suffering person, he is the greatest, and all people must serve him and he also accept the support of others with righteous, but is it so in God’s kingdom? Why does God want people to suffer? What are the reasons for suffering? Can we know God’s will and live a life that glorifies God?

We have previous talked about abiding in GOD’s word. We started with some biblical verses, now we have to speed up the abiding. Here is how to do it. This approach is like a person wearing sunglasses all the time and suddenly his glasses are removed, he can see everything clearly. This change lies in the difference in vision, and everything he sees has changed completely. This should have a great change.
Knowing the gates of our body. These gates are connected to the gates of our soul. Remember the body is not in direct contact with the spirit but with the soul. The soul is in contact with the spirit and with the body, in this way, the soul is the connector between spirit and soul.

Right of Justice and Judgement was not given to souls. It is the sole prerogative of God for which He created His Karmic Law.
His Karmic Law works on the principle of Upliftment of soul. If we are keen to realize our Father then we must stop judging others and also stop seeking justice for wrong done to us.
When we will forgive others, God will forgive our trespasses to His Law.

Forgiveness and consequences seth g march 24 2019Pacific Church
What happened after David and Bathsheba's sins? How does forgiveness occur? What other spiritual blessings can be discovered through repentance? God loves us so much, that he allows the consequences of our sin to play out. It’s hard for us to see that as love, until we can look at the situation from God’s perspective.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
2. What does it mean to be carnally minded?
relating to the physical feelings and wants of the body
Flesh-led not spirit-led
Romans 8:5-8: “For those who live according to the flesh set their
minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the
Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but
to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is
enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed
can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
3. In the beginning…
Genesis 3-1-7 NKJV
“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman,
“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be
opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one
wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were
opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.”
4. Situations in where we haven’t let the spirit
lead us?
Relationship with others
Career paths
What we say
What we do/how we act on a daily basis
Prayer
5. David & Bethsheba
2 Samuel Chapter 11
King David saw and lusted after his servants Uriah the Hittite’s wife
Uriah was one of his top soldiers
Bathsheba was brought to him ,Adultery was committed
Bathsheba fell pregnant, David had his servant Uriah purposely put in the front line to die
After his death David married Bathsheba and they had a son
God was displeased with David, sent the prophet Nathan to deliver his curse on his family
6. David’s family is cursed
God through the Prophet Nathan:
“Why did you despise the word of the LORD by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite
with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now,
therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah
the Hittite to be your own.’”
Bible says:
1 John 2:15:
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in
him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the
Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God
abides forever”
7. Similar examples…
Cain murdering Abel due to Jealousy
Samson lost his God given gift of strength (lust)
Joseph’s brothers sold Joseph because of Jealousy
8. Moral of the story?
Following your carnal desires leads to curses, misery and death
Fortunately (for us) God is merciful
Sacrificed His Son so that we may have life more abundantly
God forgives when we come to Him with a repentant/humble heart
Through Jesus’ sacrifice our sins are covered, no longer condemned to death
Parable of the prodigal son
9. Discuss
In what areas of your lives have you struggled with Carnal feelings?
Are these desires/feelings normal? What does the Bible say about it?
What factors make it difficult for us to grow spiritually?
How do you deal with your carnal desires/struggles?
To what extent has our environment influenced us /encouraged or even
celebrated carnality?
What can we do as the body of Christ to fight this problem?
10. Feed your spirit!
It needs nourishment
Food=Word of God
Constant battle (good fight of Faith)
But you, O man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,
perseverance, and gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which
you were called when you made the good confession before many witnesses.
11. Remember…
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not
allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way
of escape, that you may be able to [a]bear it.”
NOTHING is too big for God.
Editor's Notes
As born again Christians God has placed His spirit within us. And it is our job to feed our spiritual beings. The only way to do that is to fill yourself with the Word of God.
Mathew 4:4: But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Sin amongst Humans was born in the Garden of Eden, a very well known story but we will run through it anyway.
Does any thing stand out to you About this scripture ? What stands out for me is that God’s word was clear. He had told them not to eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil for you surely die. The serpent misconstrued God’s word’s making what God had said was forbidden look accessible and enticing… Instead of believing what God had said was true Eve, in her pride thought that she could be like God and altered God’s word in her mind. In life, the devil tries to tell us or make us feel as if what we are doing is good and will satisfy us when in fact it is contrary to what God wants for us as His children. For example sometimes you may feel alone, convinced that God isn’t listening or there but it says in Hebrews 13 “I will never leave nor forsake you”
We listen to our voice instead of the voice of God. We should ask for the spirit of discernment and also study His word more because when you are well versed in God’s word you will surely know when He is speaking
David had committed adultery because of his lustful and carnal desires. He went so far as to murder to satisfy his flesh. This is the kind of behaviour God doesn’t like.
The word despised really shows the character of God and how He feels towards us choosing ourselves over Him.
The reward for choosing God over our selfish desires is eternal life in Heaven with Him.
Can be vague doesn’t have to be personal
Just like any physical human body, your spirit needs nourishment
