The National Inland Waterways Conference jointly organised on June 2,
2015 by the Ministry of Shipping and the Inland Waterways Authority of
India provided a glimpse of the renewed focus of the government in
using rivers into waterways for transportation purposes.

The Car Carrier Association held its first ever all India conclave on June 17,
2015.The congregation insisted that the government should resolve issues
over dimensions of carriers, which arise due to ambiguity and lack of defined
standard in Central Motor Vehicles Rules Act.Vipul Nanda, President, Car
Carrier Association stated, “The solution to the vexatious vehicle dimensions,
plaguing the Car Carrier business for decades is round the corner.”
