A company called Purple has helped over 45,000 venues in 120 countries collect over 145 million customer profiles by offering WiFi login services that require customers to provide contact information in exchange for access. One Purple customer, a casual dining brand, values each customer record at $5 and was able to add 1 million new records to its CRM through Purple, effectively generating $5 million worth of additional customer data.
