2. MY EXCHANGE
AT GERMANY
◦ When I was 15 years old, I was on a 4
months Exchange at Germany, there I
met new people, learn from a new
culture, improve my German and
practice my sport too. From this
experience now I can make things,
that I never thought I could be
making or even planed but those thing
are greatest experiences of personal
growing. But the most important thing
that my exchange give to me were the
tools that are part how I am, and how
I will face what the future departs
for me.

3. MY GERMAN
◦ During my exchange I improved my
German, my pronunciation and my writing.
That gives me the tools for the A2
German - language Exam, and helps me to
prepare the ICFES, that I will be
presenting at February 2019, and the
ABITUR, that is the German High School
Exam. With these exams I may pass to
all the German Collages and it also gives
you the certification of language at C1

4. A NEW CULTURE
◦ The thing form which I learn the most
during my exchange was from the culture.
Not only because the huge differences
between the German and the Colombian
one, but also because the richness of the
European people, and each culture is
unique and has many things to make a
growth on every person. During my stay, I
went to a concentration camp, was a very
hard moment because what it means but
also show to me that we must know our
history to avoid repeating it. Finally the
experience of learning from a new culture
gives me an idea of what I want to do as a
professional.

5. A GERMAN SCHOOL
◦ In Colombia, I am on a German school since 2007,
where the different classes and subjects are taught in
German, making it a new native language for ourselves.
But arriving at the new school I noticed the real
difficulty that is using a language full time. But that was
the biggest challenge I had, but also the most enriching
one, showing me that no matter how hard something can
be with your perseveration and dedication everything is
possible.

6. MY SPORT
Swimming is for me more than just a sport I
practice, is my way of life, I practice swimming
since 2006, and It was a very important factor
when I chose my school in Germany, therefore I
chose “Sportschule Potsdam.” I train there every
day during the 4 months, but the difference of
the tranning between Germany and Colombia is
very big, making me very difficult to keep
competitive there, but when I returned to
Colombia that traning makes me very competitive
and getting new sporting achievements, showing
me agin that all that hard work worthit.

7. NEW FRIENDS
◦ During my time at Germany I learned a
lot about friendship, and how only a few
people can be call real friends, there I
made one good friend that became to me
like a sister. That experience helped me
to see what friendship means, now I
know that everyone that seems to be
your friend is not acting for there one
wellness and there agenda. But Also show
me that having 2 or 3 good friends is the
most important thing on life, because
friends are the family you can chose.

8. What did I learn from
this experience?
◦ During my experience I learned about autonomy, because I did
not had the support of my parents during work like, groceries,
laundry, transportation and small things at home and my abilities.
Also I learned about responsibility by the independence of a new
place gives to me, and the differences between the two
countries, also the finding of the responsibility my parents also
had in past occasions, like traveling and and saving money.
◦ I learned for the cultural difference, the size of the world and
the possibilities of each person. Also I learned about the German
capacity of making progress into the culture and expansion of it
by knowing new people during this experience. The German
swimming level I was taking about during the past slides.

9. How did it helped the
way I view future
obstacles
◦ Now the real importance of my exchange, was the new way that
I gain, when I am facing a challenge, because now I don’t stand
back at any occasion and find out the way of solving any
problem with always a smile in my face and my forehead up.
◦ But one of the biggest learnings I had during this time was the
importance of being myself in every occasion, because only
doing it people learned how am I, with out leaving apart the
capacity of adapting to every step of the way.
