My story…
2. LUXEMBOURG
Facts:
Population: 600’00
Size: 2586km2
Language: French, German, English,
Luxembourgish
The Beginning:
I saw light the 28.10.1995 in the Grand-‐Duchy of Luxembourg. A
country that is unknown to many people. But I love it and it will
always be my HOME. The country is very small but it taught me
great things. Such as speaking 4 languages fluently. German,
French, English and Luxembourgish. Well you might wonder, but
YES Luxembourgish is actually a language. We call it our secret
language, we understand a great part of the population but no
one understands us.

Pressurehandling
I played football in
an all girls team for
a couple of years,
which helped me
deeply develop my
team work skills.
I was a national skier for 3 years,
when I won the Luxembourg
national ski championships. It
caught a lot of attention and I was
even in the newspapers. Skiing
taught me to handle the pressure
to perform well
Socialawareness
During summer holidays 2012 I decided to
do volunteer as a teacher in a nursery in
Cape Town, South Africa. It was an eye-‐
opening and enriching experience. Reality
hit me very hard, and I started
appreciating every thing that I had so
much more.

The Beginning of a better story
In 2012, I decided to leave my comfort zone in Luxembourg and
take on the greatest challenge of my life, Boarding School in
Oxford. The school was called St Clare’s and it was a small but a
renown international boarding school in the academic town of
Oxford. I was young, I couldn’t speak English very well and I was
very shy. The beginning was hard, I didn’t know anybody, I had
new professors, new courses, a new ‘home’, a new roommate…
But it didn’t take me long to get used to my new environment.

Determination
I was captain of the St Clare’s football
team.
My ’beautiful room’ in
my new home. I had to
start doing laundry,
cook food, go grocery
shopping. This enabled
me to become
independent and
travel the world on my
own
Serbian, Philipino, Surinamese, Dutch,
Spanish, Romanian, German, Russian,
French and Luxembourgish. 10
nationalities in one picture. This pretty
much sums up my life at St Clare’s. I
met people that came from places that
I didn't’t even know existed and they all
became my friends!
I never had very good grades
during the 4 semesters at St
Clare’s because I skipped a
year of high school. But I had
such a strong determination
to graduate as an honor
student… And that’s what I
did, I scored 41 out of 45
points in IE

Here we are in sunny paradise!
After graduating in England in 2014, I started the BBA program at
IE University. The decision to come to Spain came rather early on
during boarding school. I wanted to be at a University, where I was
able to get to know people from all around the world and work
closely with them. My first days in Spain were amazing, I arrived at
the small town of Segovia and was surprised by siesta times from
2 to 5 pm. But campus life was great, I build such great friendships.
The move to Madrid was incredibly refreshing and the big city feel
pleased me a lot!

7. LeadershipPassion for Finance
Most importantly I discovered my passion for finance at IE
University. Which I pursued in my summer and off-‐cycle
internships. I did two traineeships in Big 4’s in the corporate
finance department, where I was mostly exposed to due
diligences. Then I decided to go into Private Equity in
Germany. One at the DBAG a large German fund in Frankfurt
that invests into industrial companies and a smaller fund in
Munich that is more focused on secondary investments.
IE also enabled me to found my own club, so I
started and lead the IE Running club, which
allowed me to share my passion for sports.
We all participated in the Madrid marathon
at the end of the year!
8. China
Facts:
Population: 1.3bn
Size: 9.597.000 km²

The Challenge
For my exchange semester I decided to go to Shanghai, China.
One of the biggest cities in the world, and that is how it feels like.
The beginnings were marked with me being lost most of the time
and not understanding anything. But further on into my exchange
I started to get a feel for the city and the people. The Asian, in
particular the Chinese culture is incredibly different to what I was
used to. I met a lot of different people and had the opportunity to
travel a lot. It was enriching experience since I was not only a
tourist but an actual temporary citizen.

9. Cultural awareness
In addition, to meeting great people from many different
countries, I was fortunate to travel a lot in China. My aim was
it to get to know mainland China better to really get a good
grasp of its cultural richness. Not only the language is
different but pretty much everything is different. However,
getting to know the Chinese people better will help me now
and for future encounters.
10. So you might be
wondering what
the activity is?
Well I would define it as both
traveling and living in different
countries. I will never stop doing it
and it will never stop growing
personally and professionally
