Kira's mother dies from illness and the village thinks Kira is useless, so Vandora tries to convince the council to feed Kira to the beast. However, the council decides Kira has a talent for mending clothes. Kira learns to mend clothes well and lives happily with friends, though she cannot find blue thread. Her friend Matt goes on a journey and returns with blue thread and Kira's long-lost father.

She knows how to make every thread color. Except blue so her friend Matt sets off on a journey to find it. And brings back a Bundle of Blue and her father who disappeared when she was a little baby.
