Kira is a girl with a twisted leg who lives in a village that kills the weak. However, Kira is a skilled weaver. To stay alive, the Council of Guardians requires her to weave the singer's robe. Kira learns dye techniques from her neighbor Annabella, who is later killed. Kira's friend Matt then disappears but later returns with a surprise.
