TRANSITION PLANNER
Mr. Cakmes is one of Gilbane’s skilled Transition Planners. His area of expertise include
logistics and project management. His strong communication and organization skills
support successful project execution and client interaction. Mr. Cakmes’ focus on
sustainability allows him to assist in developing creative strategies for recycling and the
reuse of materials during the decommissioning process.
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Advanced Care Pavilion; Philadelphia, PA
Mr. Cakmes served as the Transition Planner in support of the new 155,00 SF acute-
care building that featured upgrades and enhanced capacity for emergency, surgical,
trauma, and critical care patients. His responsibilities included the oversight of medical
equipment delivery and installation, including the new furniture for the PAC building.
He conducted walkthroughs and created the delivery schedule, training schedule
and furniture audits for clients and staff. Mr. Cakmes was also responsible for the
preparation and coordination of operational interviews and training workshops. The 5+
day workshops include over 50 vendors for SICU/CCU, ED Trauma, PACU and OR.
The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Nelson Harvey Renovation; Baltimore, MD
Mr. Cakmes served as the Transition Planner for The Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Nelson
Harvey Renovation Project located on East Baltimore Campus. The Nelson Harvey
building consists of ten levels in the 300,000 SF building, and will include: Six (6)
Department of Medicine patient care units (136 beds), Rehab Gym, Pulmonary Function
Testing Lab, Portable Imaging workroom, physician workrooms, resident lounges, on
call rooms, palliative care, social work, and nursing office suites that will relocate from
multiple buildings on campus. As Transition Planner, Mr. Cakmes supported scheduling
activities and was responsible for the coordination of patient and office moves into the
newly renovated space.
Inova Health Systems North Patient Tower; Fairfax, VA
Gilbane is providing transition and move coordination services for the renovation of
an existing inpatient tower. Gilbane serves as the end-user liaison, leading multiple
departments in the development and execution of their move plans, as well as
coordinating all owner furnished items, patient and office moves. As Transition Planner,
Mr. Cakmes assisted with the patient moves into the newly renovated space. He also
supported the post-move decommissioning activities.

Schreiber Foods Inc, Headquarters Relocation Decommissioning;
Green Bay, WI
Gilbane planned, coordinated, and managed the transition to a new 260,000 SF
headquarters facility. The new headquarters consolidated all operations and 700
employees from six previous locations into a new, state-of-the-art building designed
to support cross-functional team collaboration. The detailed planning included the
decommissioning of the previously occupied buildings. As Transition Planner, Mr.
Cakmes was responsible for the vendor coordination and management throughout
the buildings’ decommissioning process. Mr. Cakmes’ focus on sustainability was
particularly helpful in the planning for recycled materials through donations to non-
profit organization and material re-use strategies.
The Ohio State University Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Chemistry
Building (CBEC) Transition Planning Management: Columbus, OH
Gilbane was responsible for the transition planning and management services for the
relocation of the OSU’s CBEC labs into the new 225,000 SF building on the Columbus
campus. Gilbane constructed the new building and included transition planning and
management services in the GMP. As Transition Manager, Mr Cakmes was responsible
for the successful relocation of specialty laboratory equipment into the new facility.
Prior Experience
Owner, A-Team Parking; Knoxville, TN
As Owner of A-Team Parking, Mr. Cakmes was responsible for schedule, budget, and
account management. He coordinated and supervised a team of valet parkers, focusing on
expletory customer service and schedule compliance. He was responsible for providing
efficient plans to navigate through downtown Knoxville, to minimize disruptions and
utilize available space.
