This document summarizes progress tracking key Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) indicators and implementation processes. It finds that while agricultural expenditure and value added in Africa have increased over time, growth rates remain below CAADP targets. Intra-African agricultural trade more than doubled between 2003-2021 but is below the target of tripling by 2025. The rate of undernourishment in Africa declined from 2003-2014 but increased in 2014-2021, particularly in Eastern Africa. To make further progress on CAADP goals, the document recommends increasing agricultural funding levels and productivity, boosting intra-African trade through the African Continental Free Trade Area, and improving investments in resilience and capacity.
