The article explores the sources and experiences of conflict among Iranian hospital nurses through qualitative interviews with 30 nurses and managers. Seven main themes were identified:
1) Nurses perceive conflict in various negative ways and react with emotions like anger or resignation.
2) Organizational structures in hospitals contribute to conflict, such as relationships with teaching universities, inadequate facilities, and issues with staffing levels.
3) Management styles can breed conflict when there are slow processes or lack of support for nurses.
4) Job conditions cause tensions when responsibilities are beyond nurses' control or do not match expectations.
5) Individual traits of nurses and patients influence conflicts.
