• Research refers to a search for knowledge
• It is a movement, a movement from known
to unknown
• Research is process of enquiry and
investigation: it is systematic methodical and
ethical
• Research is scientific and systematic search
for pertinent information on a specific topic
• Infact,research is an art of scientific
investigation

• According to Robert Burns: "Research is a
systematic investigation to find solutions to a
problem”
• According to P.V. Young: Research is method of
studying,analysing and conceptualizing social
life in order to extend,modify,correct or verify
knowledge, weather that knowledge aids
construction of theory or in practice of an art

• Systematic:plan,identify,design,collect data,
evaluate.
• Logical: examine the procedure to evaluate
conclusions.
• Empirical: decisions are based on direct
experience or observation.
• Critical:exhibhits careful and precise
judgment.
