Economics (CCP/ACC)             Business Project (Unit 3)

    During Unit 3 students are examining the role of American business in the economy and how they
    affect the productivity of the United States. Students will be expected to research a local business
    in the surrounding community. The following are the requirements of the project (see rubric
    attached):

Requirements:
   A. The Name of Business must be clearly labeled on the project
   B. The owner(s) of the business should be clearly listed
   C. What type of business are they researching (Sole proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation?)
   D. Student should write a paragraph of what is the story/history of this business..How did it get
   started? Struggles over time of the business? How did they get the idea to start the business?
   E. Explain in a paragraph what exactly does the business do? Go into detail all the services or
   goods they sell.
   F. Student should have at least one example of a Logo or Symbol from the business
   G. Students should have a picture of a local store. Students should clearly state where the store is.
   H. Students should have at least one picture of a person who works there and a paragraph of the
   working conditions.
   I. Students should include an advertisement or pamphlet from the store (no more than one month
   old).
   J. Student should explain how the business is involved in the community (supports baseball teams,
   donates their time)
   K. Student should list all of competitors in the same industry in the local area.
   L. Explain what thefuture goals of Business are. What do they want to achieve in the next 5 years?
   M. Students must include a Bibliography (where they got their information). Students need to put
   the bibliography on the back of the poster.
   N. The projects must be neat, clear, and nice to look at.
   O. Student must have their name and period on THE BACK OF THE poster.
