This document defines and provides examples of different types of bullying: 1) Physical bullying involves hurting or injuring someone through actions like hitting, kicking, punching, or destroying their belongings. 30.5% of bullying in elementary and middle schools is physical. 2) Cyber bullying uses electronic media to send harmful messages, pictures, or information. While only a small percentage currently, it is growing quickly with technology. 3) Verbal bullying includes name-calling and offensive remarks about personal attributes. 46.5% of school bullying is verbal. 4) Indirect bullying spreads rumors or shares private information.
