This document provides details on a proposed 60x60 foot agricultural shop building to be constructed in western Ohio. The building will have a 4/12 slope roof with 16 foot eaves and include workbenches, space for farm equipment, and eventually a car lift. Foundation work will include digging trenches, pouring concrete footers and walls, and installing a radiant floor heating system. The structure will be built with 2x6 studs, 60-foot trusses, and 2x4 purlins. It will have steel siding and be insulated with open cell spray foam and cellulose. The estimated total cost to build is $52,000.

2. The building I am planning to build is 60 foot by 60 foot with 16 foot eaves and a
4/12 slope. It will be used as a general agriculture shop in western Ohio. This means it will
eventually include an area with workbenches and tools. The main area of the building will
be used to work on farm equipment and store what needs stored. We also plan to
eventually get a car lift in order to work on other vehicles as well.
There are many components to consider when planning the design for this building.
First we will dig a trench to poor a footer and a foundation wall the perimeter of the
building. The foundation wall will come approximately 1 foot above the soil surface. Once
the concrete has been laid and filled in around, #57 limestone will be placed inside to level
the surface. A six-inch concrete slab can then be laid to cover the complete inside of the
building either at this point or after the structure is completed. While laying the six-inch
slab, we will install a radiant heating system in the floor. This will heat the whole shop and
will be run by a 37,000 BTU hot water gas boiler.
After the foundation is completed though, the structure will be built using 2x6 studs
and 60-foot trusses. The purlins will be 2x4 boards. The walls will be sheathed with 7/16
inch oriented strand board. The structure will have a 24 foot by 15 foot over head door on
the west side. The north side will have a 3 foot by 6 foot-8inch man door and two 3 foot by
2 foot windows, the east side will have one window and the south side will have one
window and a man door. The whole structure will be covered with steel siding.
The walls will be insulated with open cell spray foam and the ceiling with spray in
cellulose. The ceiling will be enclosed with steel siding and will have hanging fluorescent
shop lights. The walls will be covered with ¼ inch fiberglass sheets. Outlets will be located
approximately every ten feet around the building.

3. These are the main components that need to be considered before building this
structure. After considering these components, it has been estimated that the building
would cost approximately $52,000 to build. This price includes stone, concrete, building
materials, doors, windows, electric, and heating.
