14. GALVANIC (Iontophoresis)
Galvanic ionization is an electrophysical process in which electrically charged particles
(ions) are shifted through a body. Depending on the amount of electrons proportional to the
amount of protons, an ion may be charged negatively or positively. Based on the principle
of electromagnetism, ions with equal polarization repel each other, while oppositely polarized
ions attract each other.
The electromagnetic effect of the galvanic ionization is applied in the so-called iontophoresis,
a biophysical procedure in which specially ionized substances are shifted though several
skin layers. The iontophoresis for a long time is applied very successfully, amongst others
in medical therapies in order to introduce for example pharmaceuticals through the skin
well-directed into the body.

15. ULTRASOUND (Sonophoresis)
Ultrasound is characterized by sound waves with a frequency above the region audible
for human beings. The amount of vibrations per second is referred to as frequency and
measured in Hertz (Hz).
The ultrasonic waves produced by the REX-KARA Face & Body Lifter permeate the skin
deeply and reach even the lower skin layers in this process. They exert a smooth pulsating
pressure on the skin tissue, thus activating the self-regeneration of the skin. The blood
and lymph circulation, the cell metabolism and the production of collagen and elastin are
stimulated. The fat cell volume is reduced and the connective tissue is strengthened.
Moreover, the ultrasonic waves increase the permeability and absorbability of the skin

region of the visible light to the point of the microwaves. Invisible for human beings, it may

The thermal radiation of the infrared light effects an acceleration of the blood and lymph
circulation as well as of the metabolic processes in the skin. The oxygen supply of the skin

22. Application of the
REX-KARA PREMIUM BEAUTY SYSTEM
The operation and application of the REX-KARA Face & Body Lifter is quite easy thanks to the
five preset skin care programs.
w Switch on the device, select a skin care program and adjust the desired intensity.
w Put a not to small amount (about the size of a pea) of REX-KARA Effect Skin Care gel
or serum onto the treatment head and work it into the skin smoothly.
Please regard that there is always enough gel or serum between the treatment head and the skin in order
to achieve the optimal effects.
w Take the treatment head slowly over the skin. Ideally, you remain about 5-10 seconds
on each skin area, or rather 10-20 seconds on skin areas that you want to treat more
intensively, such as skin impurities, wrinkles and lines or fat pads. Treat one skin section
after the other like this.
Please regard to touch the metallic contact plate on the rear side of the handle with your executing hand
when applying programs 1 and 2 in order to close the galvanic micro current circuit. If you treat another
person, you must touch her with your free hand furthermore in order to close the galvanic micro current
circuit.
w Depending on the application or rather the sensitivity of the skin, you may adjust the
intensity of the treatment individually and change it at any time, even during the
treatment.
w In order to control the treatment duration, the REX-KARA Face & Body Lifter turns off
automatically after termination of the preset program duration. To continue the treatment,
just repeat the steps as described above.

if necessary. If applied daily, a treatment duration of 5-10 minutes

AQUA is used as basis for the manufacturing of skin care products. ADENOSINE is an exceedingly energy-rich
organic protein component which, due to its buffering effect, stabilizes the protective acid mantle of the
skin and moisturizes it at the same time. Further characteristics: cell-regenerating, skin tightening and
smoothing. ALCOHOL is extracted from starchy or sugary plants and is used as a solvent for plant extracts
and several other active agents. Further characteristics: enhancing blood circulation, detergent, degreasing,
disinfecting, astringent, toning, refreshing. ALLANTOIN is a product of the protein metabolism of the comfrey
root (Symphytum officinale). The segregated agent is very skin friendly and is applied for its extensive
medicinal benefits, including the treatment of blackheads and acne. Further characteristics: wound healing,
cell-regenerating, soothing, keratolytic, improves moisture retention ability, smoothes rough, chappy skin
and makes it supple. BETAINE is a sugar beet extract with an exceedingly high ability of keeping moisture

other active agents to better penetrate the skin. PAEONIA SUFFRUTICOSA ROOT EXTRACT is an extract from the
root of the peony bush. As an antioxidant and free radical scavenger it supports the skin in the defense

metabolism, protects against infections. PARFUM gives cosmetic products a pleasant aroma. It contains
Limonene and Butylphenyl Methylpropional amongst others. PENTYLENE GLYCOL is a new, innovative
moisturizer that promotes the water retention capacity and increases the degree of hydration of the skin.

ROOT EXTRACT is an extract from the root of Baikal skullcap, a fundamental component of the Chinese

so-called apoptosis (“suicide function”) in cancer cells, while healthy cells remain completely undisturbed.
