Wade Street Church, a URC/Baptist LEP in the centre of the small city of Lichfield, is constantly trying to reach out to the surrounding community by engaging with the life of the city and using those opportunities both to model and to proclaim the values of the Kingdom of God. WSC encourages its members to become involved in all aspects of the life of the city and has gained a reputation for its welcoming and hospitable outlook and its engagement with the many different initiatives which help to improve the life of the citizens (Foodbank, Late Night Listeners, Schools’ Work and so on).
This is the story of an urban church in the middle of regeneration and redevelopment, seeking to be involved in mission but with a small membership and worshipping community.

The Church’s decision to prioritise youth and community work by appointing a paid Youth Worker led to the establishing of a Family Café in the Church Sanctuary and grew into a vision to transform some of its decaying buildings into a new Youth Centre for the town.

The Visiting Church - The Forgotten Misison Field In America's NeighborhoodsJSslideshare2013
Hello Friends
I am reaching out to you at this time to share the Visiting Church story and the calling our Lord placed on my heart nearly three years ago, when I started bringing church services to those who were unable to attend and fellowship with their local church. I began teaching, preaching, praying and worshipping in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Nursing and Extended Care Communities. Since God called me to this “Spiritual Wellcare” mission field, by faith, He now has me serving in ten (10) care communities around the valley serving our VCM (Visiting Church Ministries) family with weekly or bi-weekly services, Monday through Friday. I have also been certified as a Chaplain, which has helped equip me for Hospice and grief ministering.
Based on the many lives impacted and the fruit produced through The Visiting Church to date, it’s become clear to me that this is where God has called me to serve and invest my whole heart for His glory. Not just me alone, but to engage and equip other shepherds from local churches to do the same in care communities located in their neighborhoods. VCM is purposed with the mission of coming alongside these isolated communities to adopt, shepherd and evangelize to these precious souls at risk of becoming spiritual orphans.
As you can imagine, this often forgotten population is at risk of suffering a faith crisis or spiritual starvation during a season of life when our ailing Seniors need this lifeline to God’s Love, Hope, Mercy and Truth. Most importantly, for those who don’t have a personal relationship with the Lord, their souls are at risk of eternal separation from our Father in Heaven. Perhaps you can relate to this and have loved ones currently removed and isolated from consistent spiritual nurturing through worship, prayer fellowship and reading of the Holy Scriptures? Please let me know how I may help.
Please visit our web site at http://www.VisitingChurch.org and carefully review the presentation at the bottom of our homepage. Prayerfully consider how you may be able to come alongside Visiting Church Ministries to help love and minister to the confined and afflicted seniors in your neighborhoods. To continue serving and loving on these seniors in need, I’m asking for your help and support in prayer, financially, (we are a non-profit 501c3 corporation – all gifts are 100% tax deductible) and if the Lord prompts your heart to use your gifts to volunteer, we welcome your service. Join us in building a legacy that loves on our elderly with compassion and a burning desire to serve them with spiritual enrichment through sharing the Word, Praise & Worship and Prayer Fellowship. And, please spread the word to others you may know who have a heart for serving and caring for the spiritual enrichment of our elderly.
God Bless you and thank you for the consideration. Peace & Joy to you this year! In His Love,
Jim & Lori Schubert

THE ART OF EFFECTIVE CHURCH USHERING TRAINING MANUALAmb Steve Mbugua
This manual will help you build a great ushering, security, protocol, sanctuary keepers, hospitality and catering team.
Your ushers can make or break your worship service.
The difference between a grumpy, distracted, and untrained usher compared to a cheerful, engaged, and “serve you with a smile” usher is huge and the conversion from weak to a strong team will be made easier using this manual.
I’ve always loved the ushering team; it has always been one of my favorite ministries to lead.
The usher’s role is so important but often undervalued, under trained, and less than organized.
Your ushers are a tremendous force in setting the tone for worship and helping to prepare the people to hear and respond to the Word of God.
This manual will equip your team to serve with the right attitude, passion, love, wisdom, understanding, skills, revelation and spirit of excellence.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

7. ‘Stay close to me, be yourself, use your
gifts, and you will roll out the red carpet
to the lost.
I will protect you, and give you both
energy and momentum.’
8. ‘Stay close to me,
be yourself, use your gifts,
and you will roll out the red
carpet to the lost.
I will protect you, and give you both
energy and momentum.’
9. For by the grace given me I say to every one
of you: do not think of yourself more highly
than you ought, but rather think of yourself
with sober judgment, in accordance with the
faith God has distributed to each of you. For
just as each of us has one body with many
members, and these members do not all
have the same function, so in Christ we,
though many, form one body, and each
member belongs to all the others.
10. We have different gifts, according to the
grace given to each of us. If your gift is
prophesying, then prophesy in accordance
with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it
is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage,
then give encouragement; if it is giving, then
give generously; if it is to lead, do it
diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it
cheerfully.
