The Visiting Church Ministries aims to strengthen and evangelize seniors confined to assisted living facilities who are unable to regularly attend local churches. It provides non-denominational church services, Bible teaching, and spiritual support to nursing homes, memory care facilities, and hospitals. The ministry seeks to prevent spiritual isolation and bring faith, hope, and the gospel to those at risk. It currently serves over 10 communities and has had a positive impact on residents and beyond to their families and facility staff. Support is requested to expand this work to additional communities in 2013.

Shahina Aftab Foundation--- A chance at lifeNoor Aftab
A global foundation for women where we cater for two kind of women:
1. Bottom of pyramid--- Women that earn less than a dollar a day and are the poorest of the poor. They need money for basic necessities of life. In most cases these women are semi-skilled or unskilled. We are setting up systems to provide these women technical training, allowing them to set up small enterprises. To show case and market their products and to earn. This means the difference between life and death, between having food on their plate or starving and between sending their kids to school or letting them become child labrours.
2. Educated Women---- A growing number of educated skilled women in Pakistan that left job to settle in life. Speaking to thousands of them we find them energetic and ethusatic who have dreams and goals in life. They want to do something with it. To channel their energies in a positive manner to make a difference.

God calls the Church and our parishes to grow. However, today many of our parishes lack a vision for making disciples, have few or no plans to grow, and can assume that their current members are growing and new disciples are being made, despite evidence to the contrary. In other words, our parishes can be more hopeful than honest. This workshop will address the pastoral reality and current practice of our parishes, offer a renewed vision for making disciples and evangelisation, and suggest practical actions that parishes can take to change the culture and focus of their ministries and groups. It will draw on research into best practice for Church growth both here in Australia and abroad and facilitate a conversation about the nature of parish leadership in this time of change and challenge for faith.

There are many areas and issues that fall within the scope of ‘social justice and social responsibility’, which the church can speak in to, but maybe the church needs to first establish itself as a more fully involved and visible part of the fabric of society. By being better connected with health frameworks, local authority structures, and the diversity that is the VCFSE (voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise) sector, ‘the church’ would be in a position whereby its ‘offer’ would be more accessible, and its ‘voice’ heard more widely.
As part of a session with Lancashire County Council on Family Hubs (6/6/23), I explained the multi-faceted nature of faith groups, active in meeting social need, but also contributing to community cohesion, and - uniquely - with a focus on spiritual wellbeing.
I then painted a picture of the partnership landcape of Lancashire, with 'F' as part of the VCFSE, along with health and local authority, active a different levels of locality.
FInally I provided some examples of where faith groups, including churches, are meeting local needs, and working effectively in partnership with public sector colleagues.
A preliminary SWOT analysis of faith groups as active partners is provided.

4. A Population Increasingly At Risk
• The purpose and mission of The Visiting Church is to
come alongside these often forgotten communities to
Adopt, Sheppard & Evangelize these brothers and sisters
so they don’t become spiritual orphans in our local church
neighborhoods.
• But rather, that their faith is strengthened empowered
and revitalized in the name of Jesus. For those who don’t
already have a saving relationship with Christ and whose
souls are at eternal risk, our prayer is that the Lord softens
hearts and opens doors for grace to enter in, for the word
of God to come alive and save souls on the doorstep of life.

5. Meeting A Local Need…And Reaching
Beyond
• Unfortunately, availability and access to relevant
and consistent spiritual enrichment is scarce in many
of these communities. The Visiting Church fills this
void and meets this need with consistent and
intentional experiences that nurture faith and share
hope during a very difficult season in life.
• God’s power and spirit is stoking fires of revival and
working through TVC. This presence not only blesses
the residents but has a significant impact on their
families, caregivers and community employees. The
blessings are multiplying outside these communities
and the truth of the Gospel is spreading.
